PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the golf shop at (517) 242-8527 for rates and availability. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM 14 & Under Match Play Championship contestants. 

 

FORMAT:

 

Aug. 6:

Morning – 12 holes - Stroke Play Match Play Flights will be based on morning scores.

Afternoon – Matches, starting off hole No. 1

 

Aug. 7:

Morning – Matches, starting off hole No. 1

Afternoon – Matches, starting off hole No. 1

 

*All participants qualify for Match Play and will play three matches

 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is the GENERAL PENALTY for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the round.

 

FOOD: The golf shop sells limited snacks and drinks, including candy bars, chips, Gatorade, and soft drinks.

 

PRACTICE RANGE: It is complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The range will open one hour before the first tee time.

 

PLAYOFF: Ties during the stroke-play portion of the Championship will be broken by matching scorecards and using the method prescribed by the Rules of Golf in Committee Procedures Section 5A(6).  If tied after the final hole, matches will continue until a winner is determined.

 

PRIZES: The Winner and Runner-Up of each flight will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony after the play concludes on Aug. 7.

 

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournaments@gam.org. Failure to notify the GAM of a WD may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.

 

GAM Foundation Junior Tournament Player Grants: The Golf Association of Michigan Foundation offers need-based financial grants to select junior golfers participating in GAM Championships. Grants are awarded through an application process that considers family financial needs and other factors contributing to funding gaps for competitive golf-related expenses.
