Play is governed by the Golf Canada Rules of Golf (effective January 2023) and the Local Rules and Terms of the Competition for 2025 Golf Canada competitions. Local Rules posted at the host club do not apply.

Complete text of the Rules and Local Rules can be found in the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf, effective January 2023.

TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

1. Format

A team and Individual competition will be run concurrently over 72 holes.

Team format

The Team Championship will be 72 holes of stroke play. Teams are comprised of three (3) players. In each 18-hole round, the total of the two (2) lowest scores by players of each team constitutes the team score for that round. The champion is the team with the lowest total score for 72 holes.

Individual format

The Individual Championship will be 72 holes of stroke play. Individual players may also be part of a team format on a concurrent basis.

2. Team Representatives

A team may designate one (1) advice giver who must be identified to the Committee at registration. A player designated as one of the advice givers may not provide advice while playing a round.

3. Amateur Status

All players selected by their teams must be amateur golfers in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited and the USGA.

4. Practice Prior to the Championship

The two official practice rounds are on Monday, September 15th (8:30am – 10:20am) and Tuesday, September 16th (12:30pm shotgun).  There are no other formal on-course practice arrangements.

5. Registration

Teams must register between 7:00am – 10:00am on Monday, September 15th.

6. Selection of Teams and Substitutions

Three (3) players will represent the team and only those players are permitted to practice on the Championship courses and the practice areas. Once the event has started, there are no substitutions permitted.

If a player suffers an injury or illness after the start of the Championship that keeps that player from competing in a given round, the player may return to the Championship in a later round, if the player recovers in time.

If a player missed a round or rounds, they may participate in the remainder of the Championship and have their score count for those remaining rounds, provided that player's name was confirmed to the Golf Canada at team registration.

7. Prizes & Playoffs

Team: Overall champion, runner-up, and 3rd place.

Individual: Overall champion, runner-up, and 3rd place.

Tie-Breaking Procedure: In the event of a tie in the team championship, it will be decided by the non-counting team player’s score for the 4th round.  If teams remain tied, the non-counting score from the 3rd round, then 2nd round, and then 1st round will be used.  If teams remain tied, it will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of team play after the 4th round.   Any teams tied for other positions will remain tied.

Individuals who are tied for the lead after 72-holes will participate in a hole-by-hole playoff to determine who will receive the exemption into the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open, taking place at Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta from August 17th – 23rd, 2026.

In addition, players who finish in the top 3 (including ties) of the individual championship will earn a direct exemption into the 112th Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship, taking place at The Toronto Golf Club in Mississauga, Ontario from July 20th – 24th, 2026.

8. Anti-Doping Notice to Players

The use of Prohibited Substances and Prohibited Methods is strictly forbidden. All competitors are subject to the provisions of the Golf Canada’s Anti-Doping Policy.

9. Order of Play within Teams

Each round will be conducted with a split-tee start (off Holes 1 and 10). Team members will be assigned in three continuous groups each round (for example, one team member at 8:30am, 8:40am, and 8:50am).

For the first two rounds of the Championship, the Coaches will determine the order of play within their teams (via forms provided at team registration). Teams may change their order up until 10:00am EDT on Monday, September 15th

For the final two rounds of the Championship, the order of play within teams will be based on score, that is, the player with the lowest cumulative individual score will tee off last amongst team members. In the case of a tie, the order of play will be the same as the Captain's designated order of play for the first two rounds.

10. Breaking Team Ties for the 3rd and 4th Round Draws

For the purpose of breaking team ties for the 3rd and 4th round draws, the "first in, last out" method will be used.  The order of finish will be determined by the order of the previous round's draw.  A team with an earlier starting time will be considered to have finished before a team with a later time.  If two teams have the same starting times, the team listed as starting off of Hole 1 will be considered to have finished before those listed off Hole 10.  If two teams are in the same starting times from the same starting hole, the order that they are listed in the draw will be the order that will be considered to have finished.

11. Minimum of 54 Holes

In no circumstances will either Championship be extended beyond Saturday, September 20th. The champion will be the team which returns the lowest score for the number of rounds played, except that, if it is not possible to play at least 54 holes in the four available days, the Championship will be concluded without a Champion being determined.
