Men's League | Session 3

Cost:
- $50/team (goes towards end of session purse)
- $25/person (pays for GHIN membership)
- One time purchase per year.
Format: Four-Ball Matchplay (USGA Rule 23.1)
- Four-Ball is a form of play involving partners where:
- Two partners compete together as a side, with each player playing their own ball, and a side’s score for a hole is the lower score of the two partners on that hole.
Format: Low-Total
- Low-Total is a form of play involving partners where:
- Two partners compete together as a side, with each player playing their own ball, and they add both scores together to provide a total score for each hole.
- The lower total score between the two teams wins the hole.
Tees:
- Gentlemen: White Tees
- Gentlemen 55-64: Green Tees
- Gentlemen 65+: Gold Tees
Rules
- GHIN number is required.
- Handicap Index is required.
- If one is not established, you may play as a 0 until one is established.
- In order to establish a Handicap Index, a total of 54 holes must be played and posted to your scoring record. These scores can be made up of any combination of 9- or 18-hole rounds. (Rule 4.5, Rules of Handicapping)
- You can back post scores to GHIN to establish a handicap of previous rounds played.
- All native will be played as a red penalty area. (Rule 17.1d) (Diagram on Golf Genius App)
- Player May Decide to Take Unplayable Ball Relief Anywhere Except Penalty Area (Rule 19.1)
- Unplayable ball relief is allowed anywhere on the course, except in a penalty area.
- If a ball is unplayable in a penalty area, the player’s only relief option is to take penalty relief under Rule 17.
- If you elect to take a shot from a penalty area (native), you remain in that area until you successfully hit the ball out. At that point, there is no longer any reference to where your previous shot crossed the hazard under rule 17.1d.

- For pace of play all out of bounds shots SHALL be played utilizing Model Local Rule E-5 (Diagram on Golf Genius App)
- This allows players to drop 2 club lengths into the fairway, no nearer the hole, at a point where the original ball is estimated to have crossed the course boundary. (+2 stroke penalty)
- All other golf rules apply as normal. All other golf rules apply as normal.
Flights
- Your combined team handicap will be used to place you into flights consisting of 3-6 teams.
- You will play head-to-head matches each week against other teams within your flight.
- Each flight will alternate weekly between the front and back 9.
- Any flights with an odd number of teams will have a bye week of which you will play against the course par.
Scoring
- Low Ball
- The teams lowest individual score will be worth 1 point. Ties will be worth ½ of a point.
- Low Total
- The teams low combined score will be worth 1 point. Ties will be worth ½ of a point.
Handicaps
- Players are required to establish a Handicap Index via a GHIN.
- Rounds will be posted to GHIN each week to help establish an accurate Handicap Index.
- Max handicap is 20.
- If your handicap index is greater than 20, your playing handicap will be limited to 20.
- Flights will be established based on combined Handicap Index.
- In each of the matches, the Playing Handicap for each player will be 90% of their Course Handicap. The lowest-handicap player will play at scratch and each of the other three players in the group will receive the full difference in strokes between their Playing Handicap and that of the lowest-handicapped player.
Missing Players, Subs & Make-ups
- If a player shows up late to a match, his teammate will play one ball until he arrives.
- His incomplete final score will not count towards his handicap.
- If a team misses the match completely, they will receive 0 total points and their opponent will receive 7 total points.
- If teams agree to make up a match, they may do so. The match must be made up on an agreed upon time before the sessions final match.
- Regular daily fees apply to make-ups.
- ALL SUBSTITUTES MUST TO BE EMAILED TO justin@golfmccook.com BEFORE 5:00pm ON WEDNESDAY. DO NOT CALL THE PROSHOP OR TEXT ME WITH YOUR SUBS. Failure to do so may result in scores being posted to the incorrect players GHIN.
- A substitute player is required to have an GHIN membership and will play as a zero until they establish a Handicap Index. ($25)
League Schedule
- Shotgun start at 6:00p on Wednesday nights.
- Session 1: April 30th – June 4th (6 weeks)
- Session 2: June 11th – July 16th (6 weeks)
- Session 3: July 23rd – August 27th (6 weeks)
- If we have a cancelled night due to weather, matches will need to be made up before the session ends. In this case league fees will apply.

Player of the Year Program:
- 100 Points for Participation
- 1st in flight – 10 points
- 2nd in flight – 8 points
- 3rd in flight – 6 points
- 4th in flight – 4 points
- 5th in flight – 2 points
