UPDATE – NJ SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP & ANNUAL MEETING

ESSEX FELLS COUNTRY CLUB – OCTOBER 9, 2018

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the rescheduled 2018 NJ Seniors Championship and Annual Meeting. The Tournament will be an 18 hole medal play championship played on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Essex Fells Country Club. The entry fee will be $250 and will include

lunch, cocktails and dinner.

As you know, we have been rained out of our planned two-day Championship, which was fully subscribed. Unfortunately, we cannot transfer registrations made for Baltusrol to Essex Fells. It will be necessary for all players to be registered via our NJ Seniors Golf Genius website: njseniorsgolf.com. Those who were signed-up to play at Baltusrol will have priority to register for Essex Fells and may begin registering on Monday, September 17th at 8:00am. Registration for those not previously signed-up will be open beginning Tuesday, September 18th at 8:00am. We encourage entries to be submitted in foursomes. Refunds of previous payments will be processed prior to

September 26th.

Entries will be limited to the first 228 received. A maximum of 228 players will be strictly adhered to. Every attempt will be made to accommodate your starting time requests. Please note that dependent on the number of players signed up, we may opt to use one or two shotgun starts. Those who can play in the morning are asked to do so and return for the Annual Dinner Meeting. Playing in the morning and pace of play is critical to allow all to finish play and enjoy a full hour of cocktails and dinner.

Prizes will be awarded for the following:

Field Low Gross - 18 holes (Champion)

The Comer Cup will be awarded to the 18-hole Field Low Net winner

Low Gross and Low Net prizes in each age group - 18 holes

Low 4-Ball team

Low 4-Ball team will also win an all-expense-paid four day three night golf trip to The Landings Club in Skidaway Island, Georgia. (Only travel to Savannah and liquor are not included.)

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6:00pm. The Annual Dinner Meeting will begin at 7:00pm. All New Jersey Senior Golf Association members whether playing or not, are welcome and encouraged to attend the Annual Dinner Meeting at Essex Fells. The cost for non-golfers attending the dinner meeting only, is $115 per person. If you plan to attend the dinner, please mail your check to the NJ Seniors office so it is received no later than October 2nd.

We extend our thanks to Essex Fells CC management for their efforts in working to make the Championship take place. Essex Fells has recently completed a new practice facility, including a full driving range, and significant golf course renovations, which have been very well received by all. Those who are able to play in the Championship will enjoy these changes as well. General Manager, Dan Pasternak was just honored as the 2018 PGA of America Golf Professional of the Year, an extremely high award. Brian Gaffney, whom many of you know, is completing his first year as Head Professional.
