The Golf Ireland hard card will be in use during this event as will as the following additional local rules
Additional Local Rules:
- Out of bounds – The boundary edge is defined by the course side edge of the ridge, and the ridge itself is out of bounds.
- Spinneys - Red penalty area No Play Zones
Spinneys are red penalty area no play zones and are covered under Model Local Rule E-8.2. Play from these areas is prohibited.
Model Local Rule E-8.2 - The areas defined by red stakes with white tops are no play zones that are treated as penalty areas. Relief must be taken from the no play zone penalty area under 17.1e. The ridge defines the edge of the no play zone penalty area. The ridge is in the penalty area.
These areas are located on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th,14th, 15th, 16th, 17 and 18th. Play from these areas is prohibited.
Relief when a no play zone interferes with stance or swing for a ball anywhere on the course except in a penalty area.
If a player’s ball is outside a no play zone and is in the general area, and a no play zone interferes with the player's area of intended stance or area of intended swing, the player must either:
- Take free relief under 16.1b, or
- Take unplayable ball relief under Rule 19
- Dropping Zones 4th hole and 17th hole
Model local rule E-1
If a player’s ball is in the red penalty area when playing 4th or 17th, including when it is known or virtually certain to be in that penalty area even though not found, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:
- The player may take relief under 17.1, or
- As an extra option, the player may drop the original ball or another ball in one of the dropping zones located behind the green (4th hole) or in front of the red teeing area (17th hole) and identified by a drop zone sign. The dropping zone is a relief area under R14.3.
- Animal dung
Model local rule F-12
At the player’s option, animal dung may be treated either as:
- A loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
- Ground under repair from which relief is allowed under 16.1
- Defibrillator locations
- Hallway of the clubhouse
- Between 17th and 18th holes
- Toilet locations
- Clubhouse
- On the right hand side of the 9th hole
- Evacuation Policy
In the event of an evacuation, players must make their way to the clubhouse.
The penalty for breach of a Local Rule is the general penalty (loss of hole in match play or two penalty strokes in stroke play).
