Championship to determine the top Women's Four-Ball team in Louisiana in 2019.
Field/Format: Limited to the first 80 team entries. All teams will play 36 holes of Four-Ball stroke play over two days (October 8-9). All teams will be pre-flighted based upon the October 1, 2019 GHIN Handicap revision. Per the USGA recommendations for players in a four-ball stroke play competition course handicaps will be adjusted to a 95% handicap allowance. If members of a side course handicaps (after allowances) exceed a 6 stroke difference, the index of the higher handicapped partner will be reduced for the purpose of the competition.
Entry Deadline: October 1, 2019
Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: Entry fee of $350 per two person team, which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play, as well as tee gift and lunch on the day of the final round. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (October 1, 2019). After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA office by October 7, 2019. A $70 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times will be emailed to each accepted entry on or about October 2, 2019. Note: Any teams previously registered have until June 28 to withdraw and receive a full refund, any teams withdrawing after such date will be subject to the refund policy above.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2019 club and individual dues must be paid). Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. Dress Code, Cell Phones: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Use of cell phones, including those used as Electronic Measuring Devices, is prohibited on the course during the competition (The Committee reserves the right to disqualify acompetitor for a breach of the policy regarding cell phone usage; See USGA Rules of Golf Decision 33-7/8). Important Note: Squire Creek CC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Squire Creek on October 7, 2019. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at Squire Creek on or after October 1, 2019 to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted in the Squire Creek Golf Shop, Monday, October 7, 2019. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about October 2, 2019 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org.
Prizes/Playoff: Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Gross Champions. Additional prizes will be awarded to the Net Champions and runners-up in each flight.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
Hotel Headquarters: Squire Creek Golf Houses, single rooms with queen beds and King suites. The golf houses are located on the Squire Creek property just a short walk from the clubhouse adjacent to the pool. Each room has it's own bathroom, Flat screen TV and Wifi access. The unique floor plan and security allows for the rooms to be individually reserved or reserved as a group. To make your reservations please contact the Lodges at Squire Creek CC at 318-768-7000. Room reservations will be made on a space available basis.
