RULES OF PLAY

METHOD OF SCORING: Individual Match Play – Winner of Match; reckoning of Holes

A Match is won by the side which is leading by a number of holes greater than the number of holes remaining to be played.  Please discontinue play when your match is decided and return your cart to the golf shop.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.  Upon completion of play, please return your scorecard or results promptly to the scoring areas.

USGA RULES GOVERN PLAY WITH THE FOLLOWING LOCAL RULES IN EFFECT:

TEES: Championship (BLACK)       Flights: Presidents, 1, & 2 (BLUE)      Flights: 3-7 (RED)

  • Preferred Lies: Lie of Ball may be improved in fairway being played one club length no nearer the hole.  Use mowed line to determine fairway.
  • Putting Ball: Ball may NOT be changed on the putting green in all flights. (NO PUTTING BALLS)
  • Cart Paths and Immovable Obstructions: Rule 16.1 Drop within one club length from nearest point of relief from all concrete and asphalt cart paths if ball, stance, or swing is impaired.
  • 14 Club Rule: Rule 4.1b is in effect.
  • Abnormal Course Conditions: Rule 16.1 Drop one club length from the nearest point of relief from areas marked with white paint.
  • Slow Play: Rule 5.6b. Please keep up with the group in front of you.  If necessary, we will be forced to issue penalties for slow play.  Penalty will be loss of hole per occurrence.
  • Practice: Model Local Rule I 2: Upon completion of the hole being played, no player may play a practice stoke on or near the putting green of the hole just played.  Penalty for Breach of Condition: Match Play – At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match shall be adjusted by deduction one hole for each hole at which a breach occurred.  Maximum deduction per round: two holes. NOTE: Each player can complete the hole he is playing even though the result of the hole may have already been determined.  The intent of this rule is you may not replay a stroke for practice.
  • Playoffs: Rule 5.1 Tied Match extended one hole at a time.  This is the continuation of the same round, not a new round.
  • Measuring Devices: In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY.  If the device has a slope feature it MUST be turned off.
  • Accidental Movement of Ball on Putting Green: If a ball is accidentally moved on a putting green no matter the circumstance, the ball must be replaced with NO PENALTY.
  • Listening Devices: In this competition a player may listen to music during the round, however the volume must not exceed being heard outside of the golf cart.  If your opponent/fellow competitor requests the music be turned off, it MUST be turned off.
  • Double Greens Mustang: Double greens on Mustang are played as two separate greens that are identified by blue dots.  If your ball is on the opposite green, you must move to the nearest point of relief off the green no penalty.  If your ball is off the green and beyond the blue dots the ball will be played down even if it is on the fairway or fringe cut.

 

*Your cooperation is needed in returning your cart to the clubhouse immediately upon conclusion of your match.   Other matches will be waiting on carts to play.  Gallery carts will be available for rent in the golf shop if you wish to gallery after your match.  Thank you for your cooperation.

 

CARTS: Matches will be played in two-some’s and are scheduled to ride together in the same cart.  If a player prefers an individual cart for his matches, he will be responsible for paying the extra $32 and is subject to availability.
