Local Rules
Please note – Referees are available in buggies to give Rules Assistance where required. Under the Golf Ireland Hard Card, Referees are empowered to deem an area of damaged ground abnormal and give relief accordingly.

Protection of Young Trees
No Play Zones are indicated in order to protect sapling trees – free relief must be taken from these areas.
Penalty Areas
Other than open water courses, penalty areas are defined by the grass edge and identified by red stakes. Some penalty areas include No Play Zones inside the boundaries of the penalty area. Where this applies, relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 17.
Designated Practice Areas
The Area within the boundaries of the course that is situated to the player’s left of Hole 9 is a designated practice area (including the driving range and outfield area).
Abnormal Course Conditions
- On Hole 13, the stone collection on the left-hand side bordering the tree is an extension of the drainage slit.
- On Hole 15, the roped area to the left-hand side of the green is a Penalty Area (penalty relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 17.1).
