Format: 36 holes of stroke play

 

Tees: Play will be from the White tees for men and Gold tees for ladies

 

Out of Bounds: Defined by white stakes and chain link property fences on 2/3/4/5/10 and the parking lot and paved roadway on 3/9

 

Penalty Areas: Areas marked with red stakes are to be treated as lateral penalty area and relief may be taken according to Rule 17.1.

 

Ditches: Any drainage ditch not marked as penalty areas (red stakes or paint) will be considered a french drain. Free relief of one club length will be given from the nearest point no closer to the hole.

 

Ground Under Repair: Ground under repair will be marked by green signs. If your ball ends up in these areas, you may take relief according to Rule 16.1.

 

Practice (Rule 5.2 and 5.5): 5.2 - Before or between rounds in Stroke Play: Local Rule I-1 is in effect and Rule 5.2b, is modified in this way: A player must not practice on competition course (except on or near their first teeing area or any practice area) on the day of competition or between rounds.

Penalty for first breach: General Penalty (2 strokes) applied to player’s first hole

Penalty for second breach: Disqualification

5.5 - Between holes in Stroke Play: Local Rule !-2 is in effect and Rule 5.5b is modified in this way: Between the play of two holes, a player must not:

  • Make any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole just completed, or
  • Test the surface of that putting green by rubbing the putting green or a rolling a ball

 

Range Finders: Range finders and other distance measuring devices may be used to obtain distance only, slope features must be turned off.

 

Lost Ball: If a player’s ball is lost in an area other than a red staked penalty area, the player must replay from the spot of their last stroke with a penalty of stroke and distance. If you are unsure of your ball’s location, you may play a provisional ball under rule 18.3.

 

Suspension of Play: If play is suspended because of inclement weather conditions, the committee will make a decision on the length of the suspension or decide to cancel the round.

 

Preferred Lies: A ball lying in any mown area (fairways, rough and fringes) of your own hole, may be lifted, without penalty and cleaned. Before lifting the ball, the player must mark it’s position. The ball must be placed on a spot within one (1) club length and not nearer the hole than where it originally lay. You can not change cuts when taking a preferred lie (ie. the ball can not be moved from the fringe to the green even if it is within one club length). All other areas of the course, the ball is to be played down. Any ball hit on to an adjacent hole must be played down as well.

 

Doubt as to Procedure: If a player is doubtful of his rights or the correct procedure during the play of a hole, he may, without penalty, complete the hole with two balls invoking Rule 20.1C. He must report the facts to the committee before returning his scorecard.

 

Ties: In the event of a tie for the Championship, a three hole aggregate playoff will be held using holes 1-3. If two or more players are still tied following the first three holes, it continues as sudden death starting on hole 1 and looping holes 1-3 until there is a winner.
