Championship to determine the top Women's Mid-Amateur in Louisiana in 2019.

 

 Field/Format: Limited to the first 40 entries. All competitors will play 36 holes of stroke play over two days (May 16-17). All competitors will be pre-flighted based upon the May 15, 2019 GHIN Handicap revision, Any player with a Handicap Index of 7.5 or lower will be placed into the Championship Flight, players with a 7.5 handicap index or greater that wish to play in the Championship Flight may do so and must indicate prior to the first round of competition. All non-Championship Flight competitors will be flighted according to their handicap indexes and will play from a forward set of tees.

 

Entry Deadline: May 7, 2019 at 5 PM CDT.

Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: Entry fee of $200 which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (May 7, 2019). After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA office by May 15, 2019. A $40 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times will be emailed to each accepted entry on or about May 9, 2019.


Dress Code, Cell Phones: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Use of cell phones, including those used as Electronic Measuring Devices, is prohibited on the course during the competition (The Committee reserves the right to disqualify acompetitor for a breach of the policy regarding cell phone usage; See USGA Rules of Golf Decision 33-7/8). Important Note:  Money Hill G & CC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes. 

Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2019 club and individual dues must be paid).  Entrants must be 25 years of age by midnight, May 16, 2019, and possess a certified USGA Handicap Index of 36.0 or less. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. 

 

Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Money Hill on May 15, 2019. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at Money Hill on or after TBD to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at Money Hill, Wednesday May 15, 2019. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about May 9, 2019 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org. For additional information regarding the LGA's gender policy please visit www.lgagolf.org/gender-policy.

Prizes/Playoff: The Women's Mid-Amateur Champion will receive a crystal trophy and the Mid-Amateur prepetual trophy to be kept at the champions home club. Top finishers in all flights will receive gift certificates. 

Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
