THE 92ND SUNNINGDALE FOURSOMES

TUESDAY 10TH - FRIDAY 13TH MARCH 2026

 

INFORMATION

 

2026 marks the 92nd anniversary of the Sunningdale Foursomes which was first played in 1934. This annual tournament is open to all golfers and will be held on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th March 2026.

 

Amateurs, Professionals, Ladies & Gentlemen are eligible to compete in this Foursomes (alternate shot) knockout competition, with any combination of pairings permitted.

 

Each year the tournament receives entries from Elite Amateur's, PGA Professionals, European Tour Professionals, Walker/Curtis Cup players along with former Ryder Cup/Solheim Cup players and Major Champions.

 

 

SUNNINGDALE FOURSOMES SPECIAL HANDICAP

 

All Professional Golfers (Men) will play from a handicap of +1.

All Amateurs (Men) will play from a handicap of scratch.

All Professional Golfers (Ladies) will play from a handicap of 2.

All Amateurs (Ladies) will play from a handicap of 3.

 

 

TERMS OF COMPETITION

 

Amateurs (Men) limited to a handicap index of 1.4 under the World Handicapping System.

Amateurs (Ladies) limited to a handicap index of 1.4 under the World Handicapping System.

Any combination of a partnership may enter and the matches will be played under FULL DIFFERENCE of the Sunningdale Foursomes Special Handicap.

All matches to be played to a finish and if extra holes are played, strokes will be conceded at the same holes as in the first round.

 

Trolleys will NOT be permitted on either course. Competitors wishing to use a caddie are advised to contact the Caddiemaster in advance on 01344 626064.

 

 

ENTRY DETAILS 

 

Entries open on Friday 1st November 2025 and must be made through Golf Genius.

The entry fee is £260.00 per pair and is limited to 128 pairs.

Entries will close on Friday 9th January 2026.

 

Each year the Tournament has been over-subscribed and a significant number of entries cannot be accommodated. In order for your entry to be given consideration, you MUST list any relevant information about your recent golfing achievements upon entering (e.g. County Champion, PGA Events, best previous performance in the Sunningdale Foursomes).

 

The Committee reserves the right to accept entries at its discretion and to substitute pairs for any entries which have scratched prior to the start of the tournament. There is normally a long waiting list of pairs for this event and if one player has to scratch, then the pair concerned will be scratched. No substitution of individual players will be allowed although a player with a substitute partner may re-enter and will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.

 

Applicants will be notified via email no later than Monday 2nd February 2026 as to whether their entry is successful or not. The draw will be made available to all competitors no later than Monday 9th February 2026.

 

Refunds will not be issued for any withdrawals received after Monday 23rd February 2026.

 

Cash Prizes will be awarded to Professionals and Prize Vouchers to Amateurs. Prize Vouchers will conform to current R&A recommended limits. The tournament will be played under the 2023 Rules of Golf.
