Charlotte Senior Amateur Championship

NOTICE TO COMPETITORS

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to amateur male golfers, ages 55 and older (as of the tournament dates), residing in Mecklenburg County or if you are a member of a Mecklenburg County club.

 

FORMAT

36-Hole Individual Medal Play (gross scores only)

 

RULES

USGA rules will govern all play with such exceptions as may be announced during the play of the tournament.  Local rules, if any, will be posted.

 

REFUND/WITHDRAWAL POLICY

All registrants have until 5:00 pm on Monday, October 21 to withdraw from the tournament and receive a full refund. All registrants have until 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 23 to withdraw from the tournament and receive a 50% refund. Any withdrawals past October 23 at 5:00 pm will not receive a refund. Refunds will not be given if the tournament is reduced to 18 holes.

 

DIVISIONS

Senior Division – Ages 55 & Older

Super Senior Division – Ages 65 & Older

Legends Division – Ages 70 & Older

 

COURSE SETUP

Senior Division – Blue Tees (~6,425 yards)

Super Senior Division – White Tees (~6,125 yards)

Legends Division – Gold Tees (~5,607 yards)

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

October 20 – Registration Closes

October 20 – 100% Withdrawal Deadline at 5:00 pm

October 23 – 50% Withdrawal Deadline at 5:00 pm

October 24 – Pairings to be posted by 5:00 pm

October 27 – Round One (Tee times 1 and 10)

October 28 – Round Two (Tee times 1 and 10)

 

ENTRY FEE

$225.00 per person – Payable to “Charlotte Senior Am”

Includes golf & cart fees for both days, prizes, crystal for champion & runner-up, and reception on Day Two.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available from October 14 – October 26. Tee times may be made two days in advance through the Cedarwood Golf Shop ($35) based upon availability.

 

 

GOLF CARTS/CADDIES/SPECTATORS

Golf carts will be provided for all competitors with a limit of two (2) golf carts per group. Competitors may also walk and carry their own clubs or use a trolley if Pace of Play guidelines are met. No refund of cart fees will be given to competitors who walk. Caddies are permitted, but players and caddies cannot ride in the cart together during play of a hole. Caddies must wear smooth-soled shoes and dress appropriately for the game. Caddies will not be provided or arranged by the host club – please make arrangements on your own. Spectator carts are available for a fee of $25 and spectator carts must remain on the cart path.

 

PRIZES

Roughly the top 25% of each division will receive merchandise credit (payout TBA). The Champion and Runner-Up of each division will also receive crystal (runner-up crystal tiebreaker is Round Two score). Any gift certificate prizes are redeemable at the host club’s golf shop only. Their use and expiration is dictated by the host club (Dec 30, 2026). During Round One and Round Two, there will be Closest to the Pin Contests (gift certificates).

 

PAIRINGS

Pairings will be released on Friday, October 24 by 5:00 pm and will be available for your viewing via email. Pairings for Round Two will be based on Round One scores. The starting method for both rounds will be tee times off 1 and 10.

 

DRINKS/SNACKS

Competitors may use Credit Card or Member Charge to their home clubs inside the Clubhouse Restaurant on Tuesday. Competitors may use Credit Card or Member Charge to their home clubs at the Turn Room by the Pool (#10 tee area). There will be free keg beer and light au d’oeuvres for the players at the scoring area after play each day. Water will be available at various locations throughout the course (please bring your own bottle).

 

DRESS CODE/CELL PHONES

The CSA defers to the dress code of the host club. Unsuitable attire at our event includes shirts without collars, untucked shirts, denim shorts/pants, cargo shorts/pants, t-shirts and cutoffs. Caps must be worn forward. A competitor who does not conform to the dress code will be asked to change prior to play. The penalty for non-compliance is DQ. Please place all cell phones on silent.
