Championship Event Overview

Registration Opens: February 9 at 9 a.m.

 

Registration Closes: April 1, 5:00 p.m.

 

Registration Fee: $195 per amateur and $245 per professional (includes range fees/lunches/prizes). Cart Fee is not included and must be paid each day of the event.

 

Format: 36-holes of individual stroke play, two-day event. 

 

Eligibility: Open to any male amateur 50 years of age and older who are members of a PAGA Member Club or an Individual Member of the PAGA and professionals 50 years of age and older residing in Pennsylvania. Amateurs need to have a USGA Handicap Index of 7.4 or lower. Residency NOT a requirement for professionals who are employed at a PAGA Member Club. Click Here for PAGA Residency Policy

 

Divisions:  Senior Amateur and Senior Professional 

 

Field: Field is limited to approximately 110 entries. The field will consist of exempt and at-large players. Each entrant, not exempt, shall compete in a sectional qualifying event to determine the 110-player field.  Final number of qualifying places will be determined following registration closing.

 

Cart/Caddie: Carts are permitted and optional for the Championship. Players are permitted to walk and carry, use a pushcart, bring their own caddie or use a club caddie. To reserve a club caddie, please email TBA

 

Food & Beverage: A lunch buffet will be provided each day of competition from approximately 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is included in the entry fee. Additional F&B purchases will be available.

Practice Rounds: TBA

 

Pairings: Play will be in threesomes at 10-minute intervals.  First round results will determine second round pairings. 

 

Start Times: The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry form, will determine pairings and tee times. 

 

Ties: In the event of a tie for the lowest score in the Senior Open Championship, a sudden-death playoff will be held following conclusion of play. 

 

Prizes: The player returning the lowest 36-hole score will be awarded the title of Open Champion and his name engraved on the Senior Open Trophy. Prizes will be awarded to the top 15 professionals and top five amateur contestants with the lowest scores. First place professional prize money will be $4000.

 

Weather: Should weather delay play beyond the last day of the scheduled championship, the competition will not be extended.
