Shelly Beach Golf Club – Additional Local Rules
To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf. The JNJG and Golf NSW Rules Hard Card applies, but in the case of any inconsistency, these Supplementary Local Rules apply. The club local rules do not apply.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule – General Penalty (Stroke Play – 2 strokes |Match Play – Loss of Hole)
JNJG TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS
Players may call the following numbers and an official will attend as soon as possible:

In the case of a player being unable to gain assistance from one of the officials, the player may proceed in accordance with the procedure outlined in Rule 20.1 of the Rules of Golf and play a second ball before seeking clarification on the rule with an official after the round.
- Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
- All ground beyond white stakes with black tops or out of bounds signs.
- Boundary fencing (excluding fencing in wetlands).
- Beyond the course side edge of gutters painted black and white defining the boundary of the course.
- Beyond the course side edge of the Clubs carpark, Clubhouse, Shelly Beach Road and Club access roads.
- A ball which crosses a line of boundary markers along Shelly Beach Road or an access road is out of bounds even if it comes to rest on another part of the course.
- Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
- Dropping Zones
- 4th hole. If a ball lies in the Garden bed behind the 4th green, free relief may be taken. If relief is taken, the ball must be dropped in the drop zone, which is defined by paint at the rear of the 4th green.

- Abnormal Course Conditions (Rule 16)
- Ground Under Repair
- 13th hole. If a ball comes to rest in the forward tee construction area on the 13th hole, it is to be treated as compulsory GUR. There is a drop zone in place in this instance.
- 18th hole. If a ball comes to rest in the forward tee construction area on the 18th hole, it is to be treated as compulsory GUR. There is a drop zone in place in this instance.
- All maintained gardens and mulch / woodchip covered areas.
- Any roped off areas.
- Bare patches on closely mown parts of the General Area (fairways).
- Exposed tree roots in parts of the General Area on or within 2 club lengths of the surface cut to fairway height or less (fairway and green surrounds). (Rule 16.1b). NOTE Interference does not exist if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.
- Clearly defined vehicle and machinery tracks in the General Area.
- New drainage / excavation works in the General Area.
- Artificially surfaced roads and paths in the General Area.
- Aeration Holes on the Putting Green. Any ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be lifted, without penalty, and placed at the nearest spot no nearer the hole that avoids the aeration hole. There is no relief for line of play.
- Bare or sanded patches on putting greens is GUR, relief is available under Rule 16.1d.
- Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by movement of water resulting in deep furrows through the sand.
- Areas of damage in Bunkers caused by Kangaroos (Rule 16.1c).

- Immovable Obstructions
- Garden beds and regeneration areas (regeneration areas defined by a green stake).
- Any artificial structure including, but not limited to; 100m and 150m posts, rubbish bins, sand bins, safety fences, toilet blocks, signage – relief may be taken from area of intended swing and stance only.
- Large rocks placed either side of Shelly Beach Road.
- Immovable Obstructions
- Abnormal Course Condition – No Play Zone (Rule 16.1f)
- Trees and shrubs marked with stakes are no play zones and are ground under repair (the GUR includes any stakes and/or protective guards. Relief MUST be taken in accordance with 16.1b.

- Girls will be playing from the Red JNJG tees
- Boys will be playing from the White JNJG tees
b. Distance Markers – all to the centre of the green

- 100m, 150m and 200m (par 5’s)
Make sure you keep up with the group in front, carry and use a sand bucket to replace divots, and fix all pitch marks on the greens. Let’s leave the course in the same condition as when we arrived!!
