PRACTICE ROUNDS
Del Monte will extend a rate of $74 (weeknend) or $58 (weekday) + cart. Twilight rates may be available after 12:30PM. Carts are an additional $25 per player. Identify yourself as a tournament player to get that rate between now and the tournament. You may contact the golf shop at 831.373.2700 to make a tee time.
PRE-ROUND WARMUP / PRACTICE RANGE
Del Monte does not have a range. But the nearby Monterey Pines Golf Course has one and is a popular pre-round stop for Christmas Classic players. They show an opening time of 7:00 am -- Their website is HERE and I suggest contacting them if you plan to go early to warm up. Another option is Bayonet Black Horse which for many of you will be on the way to Del Monte. Of course, you'll want to allow for extra time.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
There will be a beverage cart with lunch items and provide each player with a $20 card that can be used towards beverage cart items.
SCORING
All scoring will be electronic using Golf Genius. I encourage you to download the app if you don't have it already. Each group will be given a unique GGID to use when entering scores and we will verify at the scoring table after the round.
The Christmas Classic was founded by 2-time California State Amateur Champion Casey Boyns over 20 years ago and it always attracts a great field. This is our most popular event, and year in and year out it sells out. Field limited to 104 players; Championship, Senior, and Net divisions.
Your entry fee includes two rounds of golf (cart at players expense), $4500 in Callaway Golf certificate prizes, $20 lunch certificate, and a great weekend at one of the Monterey Peninsula's wonderful classic courses, "Old" Del Monte.
DIVISIONS
CHAMPIONSHIP
For players aged 15 and over who have a USGA or equivalent index of less than 4.5
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
For players age 50 and over (as of the tournament date) with a handicap index of less than 8.0. Note: Must be 55 and over for NCGA Senior Points.
MID-AM (subdivision of Championship)
For players age 25-49. Compete alongside the younger players in the Championship Division, (same tees, same prize opportunities) and if there are at least six Mid-Ams, a separate prize and trophy will be awarded.
SUPER SENIORS (subdivision of Senior)
For players age 65+. Compete alongside the younger senior players in the Senior Division, (same tees, same prize opportunities) and if there are at least six players 65 or over, a separate prize and trophy will be awarded for low super senior.
WOMEN (subdivision of Championship)
Will play in the Championship Division but from a shorter tee; if there are at least six women in the field, a separate prize and trophy will be awarded. Women's Net players (see below) will play in the Net Division but from a shorter tee.
NET (open to men and women)
Play with 90% of your low index, and enjoy the "max net double bogey" rule to avoid the big number on your card and make the day mostly stress-free.
CADDIES/CARTS
Carts are optional, at the player's expense of $25. Please allow extra time if you are walking and you tee off on the 10th hole -- it is about a ten-minute (brisk) walk from the clubhouse. You may take a caddie to either carry your bag and walk, or drive the cart. We do not allow spectator or extra caddie carts, (maximum two carts per group) and we have a strict rule against riding on the back of carts for safety reasons. Please plan accordingly. The course is very walkable.
LODGING
The Hyatt Regency Monterey is right on the golf course, and always a good option. The Hilton Garden Inn is next closest, less than a half mile away.
