Stroke Play Tournament Formats

• Low Net
  • 100% of your index is typically used ​​​​​​
  • We may play from the one set of tees or a combination. 
  • Your gross 18 hole score is reduced by your playing handicap to determine your net score. 
    • You must finish every hole
    • there is no max score. 
  • This tournament is typically flighted. 

 

Other formats

• "Five" club event. 
  • Players are only allowed five clubs including a putter. 
  • Low net is typically the format used to score this tourney. 
• 2-Man BB Team event 
  • A maximum 10 stroke index spread between partners will be used.
  • The low score (net or gross) between each partner will be used on each hole. 
  • Blind partner - in the event an odd number of players enters the tourney the committee will use a blind partner.
    • The blind partner will be on two teams and asked to pay two entry fees. 
• 2-Man Scramtble Team event
  • Team Handicap - 35% of the team index will be used to determine the "team handicap"
  • A gross side event may also be used. 
  • Skins game and CTP may also be used in this format. 
• 4-person Shamble - Team event
  • This format is each man plays their own ball from the best drive of the group. 
  • Individual scores are then recorded
  • The best "2" balls of the group determine the team score. 
• Skins games
  • Gross and Net skins game are a part of nearly every tournament. A portion of each entry fee is split between each game. The purse is then split based on the number of skins won. ​​​​​​​
    • Maximum of one handicap stroke will be applied per hole.
    • There are no double stroke holes. 
• Cha - Cha - Cha​​​​​​​

  • This is a unique tournament format played with foursomes. 

    • On Hole 1, you count the best ball of the foursome. 
    • On Hole 2, you count the best 2 balls of the foursome. 
    • On Hole 3, you count the best 3 balls of the foursome.

  • The process then repeats so that we are back to counting the best ball on the 4th hole, best 2 on the 5th hole, and so on.

 

• Closest to the Pin – par 3’s (CTPs) 
  • CTP must be validated by making a par, or better, on the hole. 
  • Depending on the size of the field CTPs will be split into flights. 
  • If there is a split tee time field CTPs will not be used.
