Raccoon Creek is one of the premier public golf courses in the Denver area, and the Raccoon Creek Men’s Club is truly appreciative of having a facility that recognizes the importance and value of our organization. As a privately owned course, Raccoon Creek understandably prioritizes revenue when making scheduling decisions. Because private tournaments generate significantly more revenue than RCMC events or standard tee times, we recognize the need to remain flexible with our dates and times and are grateful for the course’s continued willingness to accommodate our club whenever possible.

We expect the majority our tournaments will be on Saturday morning with tee times starting as early as 6:30, with occasional Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning start times. With the occasional afternoon tee times, we should be following a morning shotgun that will be clearing the course within a few holes of our starting. This should help with pace of play, but we as the men’s club must do our part to keep a good pace of play as well. The board will use Golf Genius to track pace of play which tracks when each hole is completed and intervals between each group.  Please review the pace of play policy

We have 15 tournaments with 18 tournament rounds planned for your golfing fun in 2026.    Please see the schedule as currently planned on the RCMC 2025 Website. This is subject to changes as needed by the course. Please review the tentative  RCMC Schedule.  We are proud to note that the Interclub Match with Fox Hollow is back again for 2026 and better than ever with more players and back to back rounds.  Also added to the schedule is the Raccoon Memorial Tournament.  A three day event over Memorial Day weekend.  This will involve many of the Raccoon Creek Clubs.  Scoring will be gross, but it will be flighted.  Note:  Raccoon Cup Points will not be awarded for the Critter Classic or Raccoon Memorial.

For 2026 Tournament Fees will increase to $35 which, include Skins, CTPs, contribution to prize fund, and after round 4-some pitchers. This increase is due to increase cost of beverages.  Exceptions to this are Shotguns and special events where food or other costs are involved. One key change for 2026: Everyone will pay using a credit card when signing up for a tournament Round on Golf Genius. You will be directed to a payment page in Golf Genius once you click “Playing”.  The purpose of this change is too many people require way too many reminders to make payment in the past.

We will continue to use electronic payments to pay out skins and CTPs.  There will be two options in 2026; Zelle and Venmo.  We believe this will cover almost all our members.  You will also be able to pay annual dues registration with Zelle or Venmo.

We will continue assigning Tees based upon your flight for tournaments. You will still utilize your preferred tees for Casual Play. This has created better balance in the flights and has improve the pace of play. The assigned tees for most tournaments are as follows:

Tournaments with 5 Flights

Tournaments with 4 flights

Flight 1

Blue/Black or Black

Blue/Black or Black

Flight 2

Flight 3

Players born prior to April 1, 1956 (over 70) may move up one tee assignment. Players born prior to April 1, 1951 (over 75) may move up two tee assignments. In no case will a player play more forward than white tees, except for red tee events.

For 2026, we will continue the Friday and Sunday Casual Play with two tee times (8 players) for Friday afternoon and three tee times (12 players) for Sunday. The club is fortunate to have the relationship with the course, that they block out these times for RCMC.

Side Games for 2026 will include 2-man Team Match Play, Match Play, Challenge Coin, and Ringer Tournament.  In 2026 to participate in Match Play or Team Match Play, you must be a returning Member and played enough RCMC Tournaments to validate your handicap. Please see the 2026 Side Game Page for more information on each of these competitions.

The Hole in One and Eagle Pot will be active again this year for all tournament rounds and is part of your membership dues. The Hole in One pot will be around $3500. Eagle Pot is available for any individual gross eagle on a par 4 or gross albatross on par 5 (non-red tee box events) and be split at the end of the season for all eagles/albatrosses. Eagle pot should be around $750 for 2026.

Included in your dues is the Annual Kickoff Meeting scheduled for April 10th. This is a fun evening with prizes, information on the course, the club, and plans for the year.  We will also end the year with an End of Year Banquet.

Base dues for 2026 will be $260, but if you register before March 1st, you can receive a $25 discount making dues $235. Colorado CGA has maintained GHIN at $43 for 2026. All members must have a GHIN from a Colorado Club. Please help the board out by registering early, to make it easier for the board to plan the season and save yourselves money.

We will finish the season with the Raccoon Cup. The course hosts this Ryder Cup style event with two teams usually captained by the Head Pro and Assistant Pro. You must qualify for the Raccoon Cup and the best way to qualify is to play in tournaments. Based on feedback from the Membership and discussions with the course, the number of members for the Raccoon Cup has increased from 22 to 30. This is based on points as follows:

Participating in Tournament                        10 Points/round.

Play in Challenge Coin and/or Ringer          5 Points each.

Place in your Flight in a Tournament                    1st=5, 2nd=4, 3rd =3, 4th=2, 5th=1 points/round.

I want to thank our membership for making RCMC a successful club. Remember to refer your friends and if they join and identify you as the referring member during registration, you will be entered into a drawing for a foursome gift certificate to Raccoon Creek.

We often describe RCMC as a social club first, which it is. But we are also a competitive club and want to play within the integrity and rules of golf, which we recognize can be confusing. As such look for the board to provide more information around the rules of golf this year as well as ensuring people are following the rules and posting scores properly this year.

May your drives fly straight, wedge shots land close, and your scores go low.

Sincerely

Travis Beattie

RCMC President
