Golf Sixes League UAE 2026 (GSL)   

GSL was brought to Abu Dhabi as a pilot initiative in 2024 by The R&A www.randa.org (Global Governing Body of Golf outside of USA and Mexico) partnering with the Emirates Golf Federation and the golf clubs of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Now in its second installment, GSL continues to provide junior novice golfers additional playing opportunities, in a fun team environment, whilst making new friends and promoting physical activity.

 

About Golf Sixes League:

Compared to many other sports, beginners in golf find it difficult and time consuming to improve sufficiently to play on a golf course. Young beginners experience the additional difficulty of getting the ball airborne using less force than adults.   GolfSixesLeague is designed for those who just started to play golf and have little to no experience on the golf course.

 

International success:

 GolfSixesLeague (GSL) has been in operation in Great Britain and Ireland for the past 5 years with great success.  The number of leagues and golf clubs being involved in the GSL is growing every year and reached over 140 confirmed leagues in 2024 with over 9000 rounds played.

GSL is also played across 20 countries including Europe, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Czechia and Switzerland. 

 

 

League Format

• Two separate pools will participate in 3 qualifying games each. These which will take place between January and April 2026
• Abu Dhabi pool will consist of 7 teams
• Dubai pool will consist of 7 teams including a combined team from the Northern Emirates
• A club squad may consist of up to 10 players, mixed of both boys and girls
• Players are to be under the age of 13 (12 years or younger by 1 January 2026)
• Players are to have NO official handicap index
• Players must be affiliated with the participating club, except in the instance of a combined team
• The Top 3 Teams from each pool, including 1 wild card team will qualify for the GRAND FINAL at the Abu Dhabi Challenge in Al Ain
• The winner of the GRAND FINAL will be the Golf Sixes League Champion for 2026

 

Format:

• Each team will provide 3 pairs – 6 golfers
• Each pair will be teamed with another Federation/Club pair
• Shotgun start  (all golfers will be allocated a starting hole and start at the same time)
• 2 ball Texas scramble
• Ready golf when safe to do so.
• No handicaps
• Strokeplay
• Maximum of 10 shots per hole
• If the golfer is in a bunker, they have two attempts each afterwards they can throw the ball to the hole.  The throw is counted as a stroke.
• Golfers can place their ball within 6 inches of their partner’s ball not nearer the hole.
• Best two pairs scores out of the 3 will count for the overall team score.
• Team winners, 2nd place and 3rd place announced.
• Points allocated for the overall rolling Golf League.

 

Payment:

Once you have entered your player details, you will be asked to make the AED50 (£10.75 GBP) registration fee to complete the process
