Palmetto Cup Championship

 

Women's South Carolina Golf Association

ELIGIBILITY:

 

  • Any female amateur golfer who is a legal resident of South Carolina for a minimum of six months prior to the championship, is a member of a Women’s Golf Association which is a regular or associate member of the WSCGA, and has a current handicap index issued by the Handicap Program of the Carolinas.
  • Teams of 6 women who must keep a handicap all at the club they are representing. Players can only compete on 1 team.
    • Individual Handicap Index limit for entering is 36.0
  • Only 1 team per club may compete with the exception of the defending champion team.

ENTRIES:

 

  • Registration opens on March 9th and all entries must be filed online and received by 5:00 p.m. on April 6th, 2026. 
  • Notice of acceptance or non-acceptance of entries will be e-mailed after the entry deadline.
  • Entry fee of $106 per player/$636 per team includes golf, tournament cart fees, range balls, lunch, and tips for bag drop.  

 

 

FORMAT:

 

  • USGA Rules apply. Local Rules will be distributed at the tournament site. 
  • The field will consist of 20 teams - 6 person accepted on a first come, first served basis.
  • Teams will be split into 3 teams of two, paired by handicap order from Low – High; named Team A, B & C playing in 2 person best ball Nassau.
  • POINTS: Each match is competing for 6 points; 2 points front, 2 points back, 2 points total. Points earned by each team will be tallied and the team with the highest aggregate will be crowned the Champions.
  • Ties for the Championship Title shall be decided by sudden-death playoff of the A Teams from each club. The right to playoff is forfeited if the participants are not available 10 minutes following the posting of all scores in their flight. 

 

 

RESTRICTIONS:

 

  • No Caddies.
  • Players must wear appropriate golf attire.
    • No cut-off shorts or denim, no shorts shorter than four inches above the knee, no tank tops, all shirts must have either a collar or sleeves. Metal golf shoe spikes are prohibited. 
  • Personal coolers are prohibited.
