MIDDLESEX GOLF Eamonn Kneafsey Championships (U35, U26, & U18s)

4.1 Qualifications
i) Entrants can be male or female and must be aged under 35 and must hold a handicap of 10.4 or lower on the date the registration closes for the Championship. Players with handicaps higher than the limit will not be entered.
ii) Entrants can be male or female and must be aged under 26 and must hold a handicap of 14.4 or lower on the date the registration closes for the Championship. Players with handicaps higher than the limit will not be entered.
iii) Entrants can be male or female and must be under the age of 18 at 00:00 hours on 1st January preceding the Championship and must hold a handicap of 18.4 or lower on the date registration closes. Players with handicaps higher than the limit will not be entered.
4.2 Maximum Entry
The maximum number of competitors is 72. If the number of approved entries exceeds the number of places available, competitors nominated to represent their club in the MIDDLESEX GOLF Junior Champion Club Championship will have automatic places. In all other respects, Part I – General Rules Applying to All Competitions, Section 5 will apply.
4.3 Format
i) The Championship will be a stroke play event, played over 36 holes.
ii) Players may employ a caddie, but the caddie for a competitor who is under 18 must be under the age of 18 on the day of the Championship.
iii) The Committee reserves the right to prevent a person from being employed or continuing to be employed as a caddie if the competitor is unable to verify that the caddie meets the term above by providing verification from the Secretary of the competitor’s golf club or other evidence acceptable to the Committee.
4.4 Order of Play
As far as is practical, competitors will be drawn to play in descending order of handicap in groups of three with no playing group comprising two competitors from the same club.
4.5 Prizes and Vouchers
i) Prizes will be awarded within each of three age categories: competitors aged under 35; competitors aged under 26 and competitors aged under 18. The categories will be based on competitors' ages on 1st January preceding the Championship.
ii) A competitor can win more than one trophy but may not receive more than one prize.
iii) The winner of the under 35 category will be the competitor with the lowest aggregate gross score for the 36 holes and will receive the trophy for the category and the player will also receive a memento to retain.
iv) The winner of the under 26 category will be the competitor aged under 26 with the lowest aggregate gross score for the 36 holes. The player will also receive the trophy for the category and the player will also receive a memento to retain.
v) The winner of the Boys and Girls under 18 categories will be the male or female competitor aged under 18 with the lowest aggregate gross score for the 36-holes. The overall winner of the under 18 category will be the male or female competitor aged under 18 with the lowest aggregate gross score for the 36-holes. The player will receive the trophy for the overall category and the player will also receive a memento to retain. The winners of the Boys and Girls under 18 categories will be expected to accept the invitation of England Golf to play in either the Boys’ County Champion of Champions or Girl’s County Champion of Champions normally held in September of the same year. However, if at any time during that same year the winner ceases to be a member of a golf club affiliated to MIDDLESEX GOLF, and therefore does not have a club affiliated to MIDDLESEX GOLF as their Home Club for handicap purposes, the invitation will be withdrawn and offered instead to the next placed
person that fully meets these requirements. This condition 4.5(v) is subject to change depending on the T&Cs of the England Golf Boys’ County Champion of Champions or Girl’s County Champion of Champions.
vi) The competitor with the lowest aggregate nett score for the 36 holes will each receive memento to retain.
vii) Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
