ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

Competitors must be the current Lady Champion of an affiliated golf club within the Midland North Region [Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire & Staffordshire]. For most clubs, [this is the Club Champion from 2025]. In the absence of the current Club Champion being available a nominee of the Clubs choice is acceptable.

CONDITIONS /QUALIFICATIONS AND FURTHER INFORMATION:

 

Qualifications: 

The Midlands North Queen of Clubs is open to female golfers who are members of one of the following County Associations: Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, and Staffordshire, who have Amateur Status in accordance with the current R&A Rules Limited and who hold a current Handicap Index. The entrant must be a current Club Champion of an Affiliated Golf Club within the Midlands North Region as above, at the closing date for entries which is 9 am 6th August 2025.  For most clubs, their representative is the Club Champion from 2025.  In the absence of the current Club Champion being unavailable a nominee of the Club’s choice is allowed.

 

Regulations:

    1. Entry through Golf Genius accompanied by the appropriate Entry Fee, must reach the Organiser by the closing date.
    2. The Committee shall consist of a minimum of 3 persons i.e. the Organiser, the Chief Referee and one other host County Committee member.
    3. In all matters the decision of the Committee is final. 
    4. The Committee reserves the right to refuse entry without assigning a reason for its decision. 
    5. The Committee reserves the right to arrange and /or alter starting times. 
    6. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the Committee reserves the right to alter the format of the competition in order to achieve a result.
    7. Competitors should register at the Registration Desk no later than 30 minutes before their tee-off time and attend the designated tee within 10 minutes of their tee off time.
    8. If the competition is oversubscribed, there will be a waiting list.

Format & Conditions (R&A Rules of Golf Apply):

  1. The Competition shall be played from the England Golf Tee Markers. 
  2. The Queen of Clubs competition shall consist of 18 holes Stroke Play.
  3. In the event of a tie for the Douglas Bowl, all ties shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole.
  4. A player may obtain distance and directional information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect her play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, penalty for first breach: General Penalty, second breach: disqualification.   5. Trophies: The winner of the Queen of Clubs 2026 shall hold the Douglas Bowl for one year and also receive a prize voucher; the winner is wholly responsible for returning the trophy.
  6. A player or caddie must not ride on any form of motorised transportation except as authorised or later approved by the organising committee.  Players are permitted to self-certify in the event where a temporary or ongoing medical condition prevents them from walking. They will be asked to complete a self-certification form which can be obtained from the competition organiser. The buggy certificate must be in place two weeks prior to the closing date of a competition or match.
