2026 Men's Gross Match Play
All Match Play Scores will be enter in Golf Genius. It is the golfers responsibility to post their scores after the match is played.
Prior to your match please send the following information to rapro@clublink.ca to ensure your match is setup in Golf Genius for scoring:
- Date & Time of match
- Course
- All players competing in the match
- Tees for each player
Once you have completed your match, please be sure to email the Golf Shop (rapro@clublink.ca) so the leaderboard can be updated.
Below is a summary from the rules of golf and handicapping for your information,
Score to record for holes that were not holed out:
When a player starts a hole but does not hole out for a valid reason the player must record their most likely score or net double bogey, whichever is lower.
Score to record for holes that were not started:
Where the minimum number of holes has been completed (7 for a 9-hole score and 14 for an 18-hole score) the player must record net par (par plus any handicap strokes allowed on the hole) for those holes.
General Information
Each player must supply three dates when they are available to play before each match deadline. Each team must begin scheduling their match within 7 days of receiving email notification from the Golf Shop on your upcoming match. All matches must be played by the cut-off date, there will be no exceptions for matches that are not played before the match deadline. In this case, both players will be disqualified, if a tee time is booked and only one player shows up that player will move on to the next round. All matches must follow the prescribed playoff format. Update Tournament Brackets and Player Contact Information will be posted on the Gross Match Play Portal.
Playoff Formats
Players will continue their match after the 18th hole to the first hole and play sudden-death until a winner is declared. If a match is played during a shotgun, the playoff will commence on the next hole, (e.g., if you start the match on the fourth hole and finish on the third, the playoff will commence on the fourth hole and proceed on successive holes, if needed, until a winner is declared). All handicap strokes will be used, matching the original 18 holes.
Darkness
If either player decides it is too dark to continue the match, the next hole in sequence will be a shoot-out from 150 yards for men and 120 yards for women. The closest to the pin will be declared the winner. Alternatively, both players can agree to reschedule the match as long as they can finish it before the deadline.
Additional information
Players may play matches at courses other than RattleSnake Point GC as long as both players agree on the venue. Handicaps will not be in use for the Gross Match Play Event.
Tees: All gross matches are played from the blue tees or an agreed-upon set of tees.
If in doubt of a ruling, please play two balls and report the facts to the professional staff to determine correct score.
Drop Zones are not in play.
