
2026 President’s Cup Tournament
The 2026 President’s Cup is a 54-hole (three-round) net stroke play satellite tournament played across the summer. Post your best total 54-hole net score across three rounds, win your flight, and advance to the October championship.

Eligibility & General Information

Open to all current Los Verdes Men's Golf Club members with a current USGA / WHS index.
-
Rounds may be played from White or Blue tees.
-
Players make their own tee time reservations at Los Verdes Golf Course.

Rounds may be played concurrently with:
-
Any LVMGC stroke-play tournament, or
-
Any official club activity round where the format is stroke play
(Player must play their own ball tee-to-green. No gimmies — all putts must be holed.)

Match play rounds may NOT be used for President’s Cup scoring.
Tournament Flights
-
A maximum of four (4) flights.
-
Flights determined after registration closes on April 17, 2026.
-
Players assigned to flights based on Los Verdes Tournament Index as of April 16, 2026.
-
Each flight winner advances to the President’s Cup Championship in October 2026.

If a flight winner cannot participate, the next eligible finisher will be invited.

Failure to comply — whether knowingly or unknowingly — will result in round disqualification.

OFFICIAL RULES & PROCEDURES
I. Registration & Commitment

Sign-up is completed through Golf Genius.
-
Entry fee ($30) must be paid before playing your first President’s Cup round.

By registering, players confirm:
-
They have read and will abide by all rules, and
-
They will keep October 2026 available should they qualify for the finals.

Players make their own tee times.
II. Format
-
54-hole net stroke play total score (3 rounds).
-
Play your 3 rounds between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
-
Only one President’s Cup round per calendar month may be submitted.
-
No make-up rounds by playing multiple rounds in the same month.
-
-
Rounds may be played from White or Blue tees.
-
Tee selection must be clearly indicated on the scorecard.
-
If not indicated, the White Tees will be used.
-
-
Scoring is low net using Los Verdes Tournament Index with Limits (see Section III).
-
Final score is the sum of all 3 net rounds.
-
Rounds may be played concurrently with other eligible LVMGC rounds, provided:

You play your own ball tee-to-green, and
-
You are paired with another LVMGC member who will attest your card (see Section VI), and
-
The concurrent round is stroke play (not match play).

III. Flights & Handicap Limits (Los Verdes Tournament Index)
-
Number of flights determined by dividing total players by 7, maximum of 4 flights.
-
Example: 25 ÷ 7 ≈ 3 flights; 28+ players = 4 flights

Flight assignment based on Los Verdes Tournament Index as of April 16, 2026.

Handicap Limit (Cap): Base handicap is your Los Verdes Tournament Index as of April 16, 2026.
-
During the tournament, handicap is limited to +1 stroke above base from the same tees.

IV. Prior to Playing Your President’s Cup Round (NEW – 2026)
Before your round, go to the official President’s Cup registration website (URL to be provided around mid-March) and submit your monthly round entry.

Entered round date/time must be after the registration submission.
-
Retroactive registrations are not allowed and will be rejected.
The registration form will request:

Date of round / tee time

Tee box (White or Blue)

Individual round, or part of a Monthly Tournament round (stroke play)
A confirmation email will be sent containing your GGID for the round.
Scoring entry:
-
If playing a Monthly Tournament: enter your score in Golf Genius as normal (monthly will be posted automatically).

If not playing a Monthly Tournament: record your round in Golf Genius hole-by-hole as you play.
-
Your round must be recorded the same day you played.
You must declare to your playing partners that you are playing a President’s Cup round before teeing off.
V. Scoring the Round

Record gross score on each hole.
-
Maximum score allowed on any hole is 10.
-
Any hole played with a temporary green or temporary tee must be scored as Net Par (Par + any handicap strokes received on that hole).
Example: Par 4 + 1 handicap stroke = 5 -
Once you register your monthly round, you are committed to completing the President’s Cup round.

Illness/injury exceptions must be reported to the Satellite Tournament Chairman.

Incomplete rounds without a valid reason result in round disqualification.
VI. After the Round
Ensure your scorecard is fully completed:

Player name

Date of play

Tees played

Hole-by-hole gross scores
Sign your card and obtain an attesting member’s signature. The attesting member must:

Sign their name and score on the card, and
-
Have posted their own round (verified)
Deposit the completed physical card in the PRESIDENT CUP / ECLECTIC BOX in the pro shop.

All rounds will be posted as competition scores via Golf Genius (except rounds already posted automatically as part of a Monthly Tournament).

Do not post your score separately (duplicates).

Scores not verifiable within 48 hours risk round disqualification.
VII. Standings & Ties
-
Standings distributed at the beginning of June, July, August, and September.
-
Final standings emailed on October 2, 2026.
-
Ties broken using Countback Method (handicap-adjusted) per standard club procedures.
VIII. President’s Cup Championship
-
Each flight winner qualifies for the President’s Cup Championship.
-
Ties within flights broken using Golf Genius tiebreakers.

Enforcement
Failure to follow the President’s Cup Rules & Procedures or SCGA Rules of Golf (local rules excepted) will result in round disqualification. Intentional violations will result in tournament disqualification.
