Format including Handicap Allowance

Texas Scramble, 18-hole Strokeplay (teams of 4) – total team handicap calculated using 25%/20%/15%/10% of team players’ course handicaps (from lowest to highest).

The combined total of the 4 players handicap indices must not exceed 70.0. For the purposes of this competition, the HI current on WHS at time of entry will be used as the qualifying HI for entry.  Should the team HI be greater than 70 on the day of competition the highest player’s HI will be reduced to make a total of no more than 70.

 

Eligibility

This competition will be played under the R&A Rules of Amateur Status (Jan 2022).

Only amateur male members of Golf Clubs affiliated to Worcestershire County Golf Ltd can enter.

All 4 players must have the club they are playing for as their ‘Home Club’ for WHS Handicap purposes.

All 4 players must come from the same club.

The Worcestershire County Captains may enter of team, the players of which do not need to come from the same club but must meet all other criteria for this competition.

 

Entry Requirements and Dates

Each Worcestershire Affiliated Club may enter one team of 4 players. Clubs will be guaranteed entry of one team.

There is no entry fee for this competition as all Club Team events are FREE under the Affiliation Fee Agreement.

Club team entry will close on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 01:00 AM

Once entry has closed members of affiliated clubs may enter a team of 4 players under the same conditions as above, on a first come, first served basis, after which a draw will be made, and clubs informed.

Note: This is a club team entry, and members MUST ensure that their club is aware and in agreement with the team entered.

 

Trophies & Ties.

Peter Adams Trophy awarded to the club team with the best nett score. The Peter Adams Gross Trophy will be awarded to the team with the lowest gross score.

In the event of a tie for either Trophy the winning team will be determined by countback over the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes.

 

When the Result is Confirmed

A score will be considered returned once it has been placed in the provided box.

The result will be announced on the day of the competition after all the scorecards have been returned, checked, and verified.

A player may win any or all trophies and their prizes. A player who has won a trophy cannot win a non-trophy prize. A player may win only one non-trophy prize.
