- The maximum field size is up to 126 players, split between the Mid-Am division (up to 84 players) and the Senior division (up to 42 players).
- Hermitage is a 36-hole facility, and we are fortunate to play both courses during the tournament. The planned tournament schedule is below.

Friday, August 21
- Mid-Am division / Sabot course / tee times from 8:00 am – 10:00 am
- Senior division / Manakin course / tee times from 8:00 am – 10:00 am
Saturday, August 22
- Mid-Am division / Manakin course / tee times from 8:00 am – 10:00 am
- Senior division / Sabot course / tee times from 8:00 am – 10:00 am

Sunday, August 23
- Mid-Am & Senior divisions / Sabot course / tee times from 8:00 am – 10:00 am*
* Ensures players can make known travel plans out of Richmond
- The field will be cut after 36 holes - the Mid-Am field will be cut to the top 50 and ties and the Senior field will be cut to the top 24 and ties.
- Registration is scheduled to follow the timeline below:
April 1, 2026: Golf Genius registration portal opens for all players to apply
May 15, 2026: Golf Genius registration portal closes
- Invitations will be sent in waves starting in early June with intentions to finalize the field by end of June 2026.
- Over the past two years, we have included a Player Host Housing program for those players interested in building relationships with our member families. This amenity, unique to our event as well as within the Mid-Am/Senior golf world, has been very popular, and we hope connections like these are important to you. If so, please indicate your interest on the application.
- The Committee has decided we will NOT host a last-chance qualifier this year – this is a change from the last two years. We understand the impact of this decision, and did not come to it without significant discussion. Our Committee will diligently select the field based on playing resumes received in the application.
Reminder - completing a registration at this time does not guarantee a spot in the field for the 84th Valentine Invitational. The Valentine Invitational Executive Committee will use the information provided on this application to invite players to participate in the tournament. Registration will close at 11:59 PM on May 15, 2026, and invitations will be sent to accepted players (in waves) in June.
