2018 TOURNAMENT OF CLUB CHAMPIONS

 

CLASSIC CLUB

MONDAY, DECEMBER 3

 

REGISTRATION:

All participants must check in at the SCGA registration table located at the driving range upon arrival on Monday morning.  Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org/nettocc one week in advance of the tournament.  The championship will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

   

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense by contacting the Golf Shop at (760) 601-3601 to arrange a time to play. Availability: Anytime 30 days prior to the event.

*Range balls and a yardage guide are also included.

 

FORMAT:

One 18-hole individual net stroke play round.  The lowest index of the last six revisions (August 15 – November 1) was used to determine flights (see below).  During the championship, participants will play to that index and will receive 100% of that course handicap unless otherwise noted by the SCGA.

 

  • Indian Wells Golf Resort Flights:
  • Arroyo Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 5.8 and below.
  • Mission Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 5.9-7.8.

 

  • Classic Club Flights:
  • Mountain Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 7.9-10.6.
  • Pacific Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 10.7-12.7.

 

  • Cimarron GC Flights:
  • Palm Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 12.8-16.3.
  • San Andreas Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 16.4 and above.

 

TEES: 

Men will play from the WHITE tee markers/yardage.  Course Rating: 71.0 / Slope: 129 / 6,229 yards / Par 72. 

Women will play from the PURPLE tee markers/yardage. Course Rating 71.9 / Slope: 132 / 5,279 yards / Par 72.

 

 

DRIVING RANGE:

The Driving Range will be open by 6:30 a.m. on the day of the championship.  Range balls are provided compliments of the SCGA and the Classic Club.

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

The SCGA will host a luncheon and awards ceremony for PLAYERS ONLY in the clubhouse after the conclusion of play.

 

The snack bar will be open from 6:30 a.m. until the conclusion of play.  Players are on their own for purchases at the snack bar. Cash and credit cards are acceptable forms of payment for all purchases.  Reciprocal chits are not permitted for this event.

A discounted rate of $115.00 + tax will be available for tournament participants on the night of Sunday, December 2rd.  Hotel block is available until November 26th.

RULES OF PLAY:

Play is governed by the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules in effect will be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendum distributed at the site.  Disregard all other club posted Local Rules including those on the back of the club’s score card. 

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:

Carts are included in this championship.  There will be a maximum of two carts per group. Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart.  If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts.  Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.  Pull carts are not permitted.

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES AND CELL PHONES:

During the play of all SCGA competitions, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device.  If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.  A multi-functional device, such as a smartphone or PDA, may be used as a distance-measuring device, but it must not be used to gauge or measure other conditions where doing so would be a breach of Rule 14-3.  Any questions about such devices should be resolved before the start of the stipulated round.  Otherwise, cell phone use is discouraged during the stipulated round.

 

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.

 

DRESS CODE:

Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts (no cargo shorts will be permitted) and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted.  Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times.

 

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:

By submitting an entry for any SCGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the SCGA.  A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the SCGA staff or Rules and Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition.  Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future SCGA-administered competitions.  These include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
  • Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
  • Offensive or unbecoming language
  • Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of SCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Conduct deemed unbecoming
  • Failure to post scores for handicapping purposes
  • Manipulation of scores posted for handicapping purposes

 

CANCELLATIONS:

To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here. If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue. Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $10 administrative fee (exempt teams only). Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
