SUPPLEMENTARY RULES OF PLAY

 

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf, the WNYPGA Terms of Competition Hard Card, and where applicable, by the following Local Rules:

 

The highlighted rule will be the rule that governs how the ball will be played for this event only: (will be announced at 1st tee)

 

1A.  Ball played as it lies.

 

1B.  Preferred Lies. When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:

i) Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.

ii) Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 inches.

iii) Limit on Location of Relief Area: Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point and must be in the general area.

2.    TEES: Boys PLAY the #2 Tee Markers.   Girls PLAY the #4 Tee Markers

 

3.    FORMAT: Stroke Play, 2 days (36 holes)

 

4.    OBSTRUCTIONS: In addition to the WNYPGA Hard Card: Mandatory Relief for stance and swing for Staked Trees and Flower Beds. Any Flower Bed that is adjacent to a cart path is to be considered part of the Obstruction. Note: All Flower Beds require relief but players are not required to take from a cart path, even though they are considered part of the same Obstruction.

NOTE:  the fence behind hole #14 green is an immovable obstruction, players receive free relief of stance, swing & lie from said fence.

 

5. OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by the line between the course-side points, at ground level, of white stakes. If a player's ball has not been found or is virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed under stroke and distance relief.

       NOTE:  hitting area of the driving range & the practice greens are IN PLAY

 

6. PENALTY AREAS: Defined by the line between the course side points at ground level of red stakes, or if present, painted red lines

 

7.    PACE OF PLAY: Players should stay on pace with the group in front of them

 

 

8.    SCORECARDS / SCORING AREA: Please submit scorecards immediately after completion of play to the Scorers Table. 

 

9.    AWARDS:   Boys Division will advance 1 Qualifier and 1 At-large Play

                           Girls Division will advance 1 Qualifier

    Awards presentation to be completed at the completion of play by division
