OUT OF BOUNDS - (Rule 19)

Defined by the line between the course-side points, at ground level, of WHITE STAKES.

When a player’s ball has not been found or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player must take stroke & distance relief by adding (1) penalty stroke and playing the original ball or another ball from where the previous stroke was made (see Rule 14.6)

 

NOTE: Practice areas (putting & chipping green) is in play beyond #9 green

 

PENALTY AREA - (Rule 17)

Defined by the line between the course-side points, at ground level, of STAKES of RED or YELLOW if present, painted lines (RED or YELLOW)

 

ABNORMAL GROUND CONDITIONS - (Rule 16)

Areas of the course that may include unusual damage:

Examples of Abnormal course conditions:  tire ruts, bare areas, drainage ditches, tree stumps & surrounding damage.

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS - (Rule 16)

Examples of Immovable Obstructions:  Maintenance roads, paved or stoned paths, fences & posts.  Stakes & wires that Support Trees (not the tree), sprinkler heads & irrigation system control boxes, exposed pipe & drain tile.  Buildings (Halfway house)
