2026 Trans-Mississippi Mid-Master & Mid-Amateur Championship

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY, PROCEDURE & INFORMATION

All tournament applicants must be a member of a Trans-Mississippi Member Club or make an annual contribution ($100) to the Trans-Mississippi Golf Association. Entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Trans-Mississippi Mid-Master Championship Committee, not based on entry number. Entries are open to male amateur golfers that meet the following requirements:

 

Mid-Master Division:  Players who have reached their 40th birthday on or before the first round of competition (September 14th). Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 5.0 or less at the time of entry.

 

Mid-Amateur Division:  Players who have reached their 25th birthday on or before the first round of competition. Applicants must have a USGA handicap index of 4.0 or less.

 

EXEMPTIONS

All exempt players who meet the criteria outlined below are required to register before Wednesday, June 17th at 5:00 PM Central to ensure a spot in the field.

 

  1. Past Champions in the previous five Trans-Mississippi Mid-Master Championships;
  2. Past Champions in the previous five Trans-Mississippi Mid-Amateur Championships;
  3. Top five finishers (and ties) in the current year’s Trans-Mississippi Senior Championship (Senior Division);
  4. Top eight finishers (and ties) in the previous year's Trans-Mississippi Mid-Master Championship (Mid-Master & Mid-Amateur Division);
  5. Competitors making the cut in the previous year's Trans-Mississippi Amateur Championship;
  6. Past Champions in the previous five U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships;
  7. Competitors making the Round of 16 in the previous year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship;
  8. Trans-Mississippi Golf Association/Host Club Selections.

 

FORMAT, FIELD SIZE & DIVISIONS

The Championship will have a full field of 78 players and be contested over 54 holes of Individual Stroke-Play with two divisions; Mid-Master and Mid-Amateur. Divisions will play from the same tees, but each division will award separate Champions. Each division is WAGR ranked and top finishers will earn WAGR points.

 

Note: If a particular division is not full by Wednesday, June 17th and there is a wait list in another division, spots in the field may be filled by those players on the wait list.

 

ON-SITE CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION

All competitors must register with Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff prior to the start of the Championship. Players that do not register may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION. Official tournament registration will be held at Lakewood Country Club on Sunday, September 13th from TBD. Competitors who are unable to register on the date and time listed above must contact Trans-Mississippi Golf Association staff in advance of the Championship.

 

OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND

Players are limited to one complementary practice round on the designated practice round date. All confirmed competitors should contact the Lakewood Country Club Golf Shop beginning TBD to schedule a practice round for Sunday, September 13th. Please be advised that the golf course will close at 6:00 PM for maintenance and the Player Reception on Sunday evening.

 

PLAYER RECEPTION

All competitors are invited to attend a reception on Sunday, September 13th. The reception will be hosted by the TMGA and all reception costs, including hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included in the entry fee. The reception will begin at 6:30 PM. Dress code for the reception is, at minimum, golf attire (shorts are permitted).

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS       

Starting times and pairings for the first and second rounds will be made available no later than Wednesday, September 9th at 5:00 PM. Final round starting times and pairings will be available in the evening preceding play online at www.trans-miss.org, in the Trans-Mississippi Tournament Office and distributed to participants. Final round starting times will be re-drawn based on total score following the second round of play.

 

TRANSPORTATION & CADDIES

Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Caddies are permitted but are not guaranteed a cart seat. Cart fees for the tournament are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two riders at a time, and a maximum of two carts per group.

 

CLUBHOUSE FACILITIES

Clubhouse Facilities at Lakewood Country Club will be open daily at 7:00 AM. Player’s will be responsible for lunch purchased on the practice round day. Lunch is provided for all three days of the Championship and is included with each competitor’s entry fee for the Championship. Guests may dine with players but will be charged the appropriate cost for the same meal. Acceptable forms of payment in the clubhouse will be distributed to players in advance of the Championship. All other food and beverage consumed will be at the competitor’s expense.

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Practice Facilities at Lakewood Country Club will be available to all competitors for the duration of the Championship. The practice facilities will open Sunday, September 13th at TBD and throughout each Championship round, beginning one hour prior to the first starting time. The practice range will close at dusk for maintenance each tournament round and at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 13th for the Player's Reception.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association's Code of Conduct and Dress Code are in effect throughout the Championship. Violations will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. All competitors should be familiar with all Trans-Mississippi Golf Association's Conditions of Competitions and Policies. WITHDRAWAL & NO SHOW POLICY          

If you find you cannot compete in the Championship, you must officially withdraw from the event by contacting Tournament Director, Amanda Kolb at (469) 458-0806 or email at akolb@trans-miss.org. If you do not officially withdraw, you may be subject to DISQUALIFICATION from future Trans-Mississippi Golf Association Championships. Any player withdrawing prior to Wednesday, August 12th at 5:00 PM Central will receive a full refund, less a $50 administrative fee. Any withdrawals after the Wednesday, August 12th deadline will not be entitled to receive a refund, unless a spot is filled by an alternate player on the wait list in the same division.
