Practice Rounds: TBD

Format: 18 holes of Individual Stroke Play. The Champion will come from the regular division

Maryland Open Qualifying:  The Top 3  from the Regular Division will qualify for the 2026 Maryland Open.  New this year, if a player is exempt in the Top 3, we will continue down the list until we get 3 players.  In case of a tie, we will have a playoff.

Tees & State Open of Virginia Qualifying:  There will be four sets of tees with females in the Regular Division or Senior Division playing at approximately 85% of the distance of the males in the Regular Division or Senior Division, respectively. However, any MAPGA professional, regardless of age or gender, wanting to qualify for the State Open of Virginia must play from the men's regular division tees. Any MAPGA professional entering the Senior Division will be ineligible to try to qualify for the State Open of Virginia. The entry to enter the qualifier is $25.

Senior Division: Participants 50 years old and over as of the event date will have the option of competing in either the Regular Division or in the Senior Division, which will be divided into two sub-divisions based on age: 50-64 and 65+ (you may play down in age, e.g. a 65 year old may choose to play in the 50-64 division but MUST play the same tees as the 50-64 division).

Those seniors wishing to compete in the Senior Division shall compete from separate tees and play for a separate purse based on the percentage of seniors in each age division versus the rest of the field. All male seniors in the 50-64 division will play the same tees, and those seniors in the 65+ division will play separate tees and play for a separate purse. The overall low score in the Senior Division, regardless of age, will be the winner of the Senior Division, and will win first place money from his/her age sub-division. Any ties will share prize money. There must be a minimum of five seniors to have a Senior Division and three players in a sub-division. If there are less than three in a sub-division, the senior(s) has the option to play in a younger sub-division, play in the Regular Division, or withdraw (with a full refund).

Ties: A tie for first place only in either the Regular or Senior Divison shall be decided by a sudden death playoff beginning immediately following completion of play. All other ties shall split prize money and POY points.

Optional Contests: There will be an optional $50 Players Pool (30% of Players Pool entrants paid) and an optional $20 skins game. If there are no skins won, the money from the skins game will be donated to PGA HOPE.
