The Tieke Family Championship is back for 2026!

 

Building on the spirit of father and son events, this tournament celebrates family connections across generations with a fun, inclusive format for golfers of all abilities.

 

Team combinations can include:

  • Father & son
  • Father & daughter
  • Mother & son
  • Mother & daughter
  • Father & son-in-law or daughter-in-law
  • Mother & son-in-law or daughter-in-law
  • Grandparent & grandchild
  • Uncle or aunt & nephew or niece

WHO CAN PLAY?

Open to amateur and professional golfers.
Teams can be:

  • Amateur & Amateur
  • Professional & Amateur
  • Professional & Professional

You do not need to be a professional or low-handicap player to take part. This event is all about enjoying great golf together and creating some special memories.

 

COMPETITION

  • Team (two players) Ambrose
  • Nett and Gross over 36-holes.
  • Nearest the Pins

The procedure of playing is a normal 2-player Ambrose/scramble format.

Each player must contribute a minimum of 6 tee shots per round.

 

CONDITIONS:

 

All players must hold an official Golf NZ handicap to be eligible for nett prizes.

Handicap calculation:

  • 35 percent of the lower handicap
  • 15 percent of the higher handicap
  • Combined to form the team handicap

  • Men: Kanuka
  • Women: Redwood

 

PRIZE POOL: There is a $10,000 prize pool. Amateurs receive prizes, Professionals receive prize money.

 

EVENT PROGRAM:

Round 1, Thursday 16th April

  • 11.00am: Registrations open
  • 12.00pm: Shotgun start
  • 4.30- 6.00pm: Post-round snacks provided

 

Round 2, Friday 17th April

  • 8.30am: Registrations open
  • 9.30am: Shotgun start
  • 2.30 to 3.30pm: Prize presentation and lunch

 

TOURNAMENT INCLUSIONS:

  • Two tournament rounds at Tieke Golf Estate
  • Over $10,000 prize pool
  • Post-golf snacks after Round 1
  • Prize presentation and lunch after Round 2

 

ENTRY FEE:

  • $280 per player
  • Tieke members $150 per player
