TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

Format:

 

Monday, June 8 – 18 holes, stroke play; the low 32 Senior Players qualify for Match Play & Low 16 Super Senior Players qualify for Super Senior Match Play Division

 

Match Play: General numerical USGA draw shall be used.

The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as required for a match to be won.

 

Tuesday, June 9: Morning – 16 Matches for Senior Division & 8 Matches for Super Senior Division

Tuesday, June 9: Afternoon – 8 Matches for Senior Division

Wednesday, June 10: Morning – 4 Matches for each Division

Wednesday, June 10: Afternoon – 2 Semifinal Matches for each Division

Thursday, June 11: Morning – Final Match for each Division

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability (810) 743-6750.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Senior Match Play contestants. Rates and availability are at the host facility's discretion.

 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

 

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

 

FOOD: Players will be provided lunch on the first day of the tournament. Morning wave players will eat after their round, afternoon wave players will eat before their round. All other food and beverages can be purchased in the clubhouse.

 

CADDIES/CARTS: Caddies are not allowed at any point during this Championship. Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days before the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be sent to tournaments@gam.org and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept. Spectator cart requests are also subject to cart availability.

 

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on competition days, before play only.

 

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot(s) in either match-play bracket, a sudden-death playoff will begin immediately after all stroke-play results are posted.

 

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw before the entry deadline, we encourage you to do so through the Golf Genius event portal. If you must withdraw after the entry deadline, please notify the GAM by emailing tournaments@gam.org.
