Additional Local Rules

 

The Golf Ireland Hard Card is in operation for this tournament. The Castle Dargan Golf Club scorecard or Notice Board is not in effect.

 

NB: Drop Zones marked on holes 6 and 11 are not in play for this championship.

 

Penalty Areas

Some very large and lengthy Penalty Areas are indicated by RED marker Posts. In addition, these Penalty Area margins are further defined where the cut rough meets uncut rough.

 

Abnormal Course Condition

The Rock formation on Hole 6 in centre of fairway is abnormal course condition and relief as per Rule 16.

 

Integral Parts of the Course

Internal Stone Walls are deemed to be integral parts of the general area from which free relief is prohibited. (2^nd, 3^rd, 7^th, 9^th and 10^th Holes).

MLR E-3 Preferred Lies 

When any part of a player’s ball touches part of the general area, cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by lifting, cleaning and placing the original ball or another ball and playing it from the relief area: 

1. Reference point: spot of original ball   

2. Size of relief area from reference point: 6” from reference point, but within these limits: (i) not nearer the hole than reference point: (ii) in the general area
