Connacht Stroke Play Additional Local Rules

Golf Ireland Hard Card is in play.

  1. Out of Bounds (OOB): A ball is out of bounds when it is beyond any wall or fence defining a boundary. Additionally, OOB is marked with white stakes to the left and rear of the 1st hole, left of the 3rd hole, left of the 4th hole (to include the short game practice area), left of 7th hole, right of 10th hole and right of 16th hole. Clubhouse and enclosure defined by kerbstones including the tunnel.

 

  1. Drop Zones: There are drop zones for the red penalty areas on the 2nd and 3rd holes. Hard card local rule 2; these are an additional option to rule 17 for relief under penalty of one stroke.

 

  1. Abnormal Course Conditions: Exposed rocks in areas cut to fairway height.

 

  1. Ground under repair (GUR): The spinneys with freshly prepared areas of exposed topsoil, have been either recently seeded and/or prepared for seeding. Please note, the spinneys with a covering of bark chippings are integral from which there is no free relief. Individual bark chippings are loose impediments (hard card rule 3-b).

 

  1. Immovable Obstructions:   The pump house to the right of 18th hole, the toilet block near the 15th tee, practice mats in the internal practice area, life buoy rings, bells, bins, benches, irrigation equipment, disc distance markers on fairways.

 

  1. Integral Objects: Bridges.

 

  1. Practice: A player may practise on the internal practice area located adjacent to the 10th,11th and 18th holes.
