Dear Members & Guests,

Welcome to the 83 Annual Country Club of Troy Team Invitational. This guide outlines the format of competition, tiebreaker and shootout details, and the full schedule of events. Additional flight information will be available on the Golf Genius portal.

We’ll kick things off Thursday evening with our traditional Stag Night. Participants will receive a welcome gift from our partners at Sterling Cut Glass, take part in a chipping contest on the 18th green, and enjoy pari-mutuel betting, scotch tasting, and cigar rolling. Teams are encouraged to bring cash for the pari-mutuel and optional Shootout Pool ($100 per team).

The tournament features five nine-hole matches played over two days. On Friday, teams will compete in three matches with tee times on both #1 and #10. Two additional matches will be played Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, each flight winner will advance to a sudden-death alternate-shot playoff on the 18th hole to determine the Team Invitational Champions.

Please take a moment to review the information provided. Should you have any questions, our Professional Staff is happy to assist.

Sincerely,

Jacob T. Mrochinski, PGA

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The Team Invitational is a Four-Ball Match Play event played at 90% handicap, with strokes
allocated from the low player in each match. Flights are seeded by combined team handicap
index. Please note: teams may not exceed a 10-stroke differential between partners, which
may impact flight placement.

SCORING
1 point – Hole Won
½ point – Hole Halved
0 points – Hole lost
2 additional points are earned for winning a match

Examples:
match results of EVEN = 5 ½ to 5 ½
match results of 1 UP = 7 to 4
match results of 2 UP = 7 ½ to 3 ½
match results of 3 UP = 8 to 3
match results of 4 UP = 8 ½ to 2 ½
match results of 5 UP = 9 to 2

TIE BREAKER
In the event there is a tie between two teams in a flight the following procedure will be used;
head to head winner, most matches won, and results versus the 3rd Place team.

SHOOTOUT
Flight Winners will compete in an Alternate-Shot Sudden Death playoff on the 18th Hole.
No handicap strokes will be given.

Flights will be handicapped by competing from different teeing grounds;
1st & 2nd Flights will play BLACK
3rd & 4th Flights will play BLUE
5th & 6th Flights will play GREEN
7th & 8th Flights will play GOLD

In the event of a tie, the second round of the Shootout will be decided by a chip-off. Each
team will take two shots from a location determined by the Professional Staff, with the closest
to the hole declared the champion.

The cash prize will be split 60/40: the winning team receives 60% of the pot, while the
remaining 40% is divided equally among teams in the winner’s flight.

Teams must be present to collect.
