Tournament Format

This tournament will be played as team match play. Teams of two will compete in a net best ball match play format.

  • Players will receive 90% of their course handicap, with handicaps played off the lowest handicap in the foursome for each round.
  • Paper scorecards will be used for all matches. Each team is responsible for creating the dotted cards and must be approved by both teams before the match begins.
  • The team that wins the hole earns 1 point. If the hole is tied, each team earns ½ point.
  • Teams will provide match results and total points to Michelle Palmer, copying Judy Melville
  • Each player will post their own score to GHIN.

Tournament Structure

Teams must qualify for the bracket portion of the tournament through a round-robin format within their flight.

  • All play-in matches must be completed between April 15 and July 7.
  • Following the play-in rounds, four teams will advance to the Championship bracket.
    • Round 1 — July 8 to July 28
    • Round 2 — July 29 to August 18
    • Round 3 — August 19 to September 8
    • Championship Round — September 9 to September 30
  • All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three matches.

Tournament Rules

  • USGA Rules for match play apply to all rounds.
  • There are a number of scenarios in case of rain.
    • If the match has not started, the four individuals can cancel play, but are responsible for setting a new day and completing play.  One team must give the other team 3 days for which to chose,
    • If nine holes are completed, the second nine must be scheduled and completed.
    • If more than 14 holes have been completed, the teams may chose to split the remaining points, or reschedule to play the remaining holes.  This can be difficult, as you’d have to play at an odd time, such as late evening to play the remaining holes.
  • Matches must be played.  If the teams can not agree to a date and time for all four members, one of the teams may have to play as a single instead of with their partner.
