TERMS OF COMPETITION
GENERAL
The Philippine Senior and Mid-Amateur Open Championship will be held at Summit Point Golf & Country Club from March 18-20, 2026 in accordance with the Rules of Golf (effective January 2026) as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and with the Local Rules approved by the Organizing Committee.
ELIGIBILITY
-
Men’s Elite Division - male amateur golfers with maximum handicap of 8.0 and below
-
Ladies’ Elite Division - female amateur golfers with maximum handicap of 10.0 and below
-
Mid-Amateur Division I – male and female amateur golfers aged 25-54 (as of March 20, 2026) with a WHS handicap index of 12.0 and below
-
Mid-Amateur Division II – male and female amateur golfers aged 25-54 (as of March 20, 2026) with a WHS handicap index of 12.1 to 18.0.

Senior Division – male and female amateur golfers aged 55-64 (as of March 20, 2026) with WHS handicap index of 18.0 and below
-
Super Senior Division – male and female amateur golfers aged 65 and above (as of March 20, 2026) with WHS handicap index of 18.0 and below
*WHS handicap index to be used will be effective as of February 15, 2026.
FORMAT OF PLAY / SCHEDULE

Men’s and Ladies’ Elite Division – March 18-20 (Wednesday to Friday) – 3 days
-
The Elite Division (Men’s & Ladies’) shall be a gross stroke play competition over 54 holes, with men teeing off from the Gold tees and ladies from the White tees.
-
There will be a cut after 36 holes—top 20 and ties for men and top 12 and ties for ladies will move on to the final round.
-
Players who score 95 or above (Men) and 100 or above (Ladies) in any round will be cut from the remaining round/s.

Mid-Amateur Division I & II – March 18-20 (Wednesday to Friday) – 3 days
-
The Mid-Amateur Division shall be a gross stroke play competition over 54 holes, with men teeing off from the Blue tees and ladies from the Red tees.
-
There will be a cut after 36 holes—top 12 and ties will move on to the final round.
-
Players who score 100 or above (Men) and 105 or above (Ladies) in any round will be cut from the remaining round/s.

Senior and Super Senior Division – March 19-20 (Thursday & Friday) – 2 days
-
The Senior Division will be a gross stroke play competition over 36 holes, with men teeing off from the White tees and ladies from the Red tees.
Note: Players disqualified on the first day (or any other consecutive day) shall not be permitted to play in the remaining rounds.
SIZE OF FIELD

The maximum field size is 120 players.
-
Should the number of entries fall short of or exceed this limit, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the distribution or eligibility requirements as they deem fit.

Payment Instructions: Once your slot in the tournament has been confirmed via email, please pay the entry fee via online bank transfer to NGAP Bank Account.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be received with payment on or before March 13, 2026 (Friday) – 5:00pm

Entry Policy: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to limit, accept, or reject any entry without assigning any reason. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Committee.

Withdrawal Policy: Withdrawals or cancellations must be made before March 15, 2025 (Sunday) – 5:00pm
No refunds will be issued after this date.

PRACTICE ROUND

Each player is entitled to one (1) free practice round on March 17, 2026 - Tuesday provided they have registered and paid the entry fee.

Additional practice rounds can be arranged directly with Summit Point Golf & CC, subject to applicable green fees.

WINNERS and PRIZES

Men’s Elite Division: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.

Ladies’ Elite Division: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.
C. Mid-Amateur Division I: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.
D. Mid-Amateur Division II: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.
E. Senior Division: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.
F. Super Senior Division: Champion, 1st and 2nd runner-up winners.
DRAW/PAIRINGS
-
The Draw and Pairings for the First and Second Rounds will be determined by the Organizing Committee prior to the start of the Championship.
-
The Draw and Pairings for the Third and Final rounds will be based on players’ scores from the previous rounds.
TIME OF STARTING
-
Players must start at the designated time and in order specified in the DRAW. No substitution of players and changes of starting time shall be allowed after the DRAW has been made.
-
The organizing committee reserves the right to change and alter the starting times at their discretion without the need to provide any explanation.
SUBMISSION of SCORECARD
-
Players must check their scorecards to the Scoring Office for verification, ensuring all scores are accurate duly signed by their markers. Any doubtful point should be resolved with the Organizing Committee before submitting the Scorecard.

Scorecard is deemed officially submitted once the player has left the scoring room/area.
DECISION OF TIES
-
In the event of a tie or ties for First place, the Champion shall be decided by a hole-by-hole play-off starting from Hole #1 until a winner is determined. Play-offs will be used only to determine the Champion.

All other ties will be decided using the countback method in the following order:

Last 18 holes

Last 9 holes (holes 10 - 18)
-
Last 6 holes (holes 13 -18)
-
Last 3 holes (holes 16 - 18)
-
Last hole (hole 18)

SUSPENSION OF PLAY FOR DANGEROUS SITUATION
-
A suspension of play for a dangerous situation and the resumption of play shall be signaled using the host club's warning system.
-
All open practice areas shall be closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the Organizing Committee has declared them open. Players who do not heed will be subject to disqualification.
USE OF DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICE
-
For this Championship, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance measuring device. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance- measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., elevation changes, wind speed, etc.).
Penalty for Breach of Rule – 4.3:
-
Penalty for first breach: General Penalty. If the breach happens between two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole.
-
Penalty for second breach: Disqualification. This penalty applies even if the nature of the breach was entirely different than the breach resulting in the first penalty. This penalty only applies if there has been an intervening event after the first breach (see Rule 1.3c(4)).
b. The use of rangefinders with wind and slope corrections are not permitted.
USE OF CADDIE & MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION

The club provides sufficient caddies, and players are required to use the club’s caddies.
-
Personal caddies are allowed only if they are not professionals, and the player must pay the applicable caddy fee to the club for caddy on deck.
Caddie Fee: ₱700.00
-
Golf carts are allowed only for Mid-Amateur and Senior divisions.
Golf Cart Fee: ₱1,100.00 sharing
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
-
Use of electronic devices must be kept to a minimum.
-
Mobile Phones may be used to call the organizing committee for rulings.
-
Mobile phones may be used as range finders as long as DMD restrictions above are adhered to.
-
Phones may not be used for calls and/or entertainment in the field of play during the stipulated round.
-
Any device to play music or similar audio or entertainment will not be permitted.
1 offense Players will be warned by the referee.
2 offense Penalty of one (1) Stroke
3 offense Further penalty of two (2) strokes.
4 offense Disqualification.
INSURANCE & MISCELLANEOUS FEES
All players are required to pay the golf insurance and miscellaneous fees as mandated by the Golf Club.
Insurance Fee: ₱150.00
PACE OF PLAY

Each hole has been given a maximum completion time based upon the length and difficulty of the Hole. The maximum allotted time for completion of 18 holes will be available prior to the round.

The maximum allowed time allocated per shot is 40 seconds. The timing will start when the player has had sufficient time to reach his ball, it is his turn to play and he is able to play without interference or distraction.

However an extra 10 seconds is allowed for the first player to play :
-
Tee shot on a par 3 hole.
-
Second shot on par 4’s and par 5’s.
-
From on or near the putting green at any hole.
-

The timing will start when it is the player’s turn to play and there is no interference or distraction.
-
Penalty for Breach of Condition
1 bad time. Players will be warned by the referee and told that further bad will be subject to penalty.
2 bad time. Penalty of one (1) Stroke
3 bad time. Further penalty of two (2) strokes.
4 bad time. Disqualification.
TOURNAMENT RULES OFFICIALS/REFEREES
The Tournament Rules Officials/Referees' decision on all matters pertaining to the Rules of Golf is final.
COMPETITION CLOSED
When the prizes are presented to the winners, the results of the competition are deemed officially announced and the competition is closed.
STANDARDS OF PLAYER CONDUCT (Rule 1-2)
All players ARE EXPECTED TO PLAY IN THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME. There is no penalty under the Rules for failing to act accordingly, except that the Organizing Committee may disqualify a player for acting contrary to the spirit of the if it is established that the player has committed serious misconduct.
The following may be considered as serious breach of PLAYER CONDUCT

Verbal abuse to a fellow competitor/official/staff.
-
Intentionally distracting or offending fellow competitors.
-
Causing unnecessary damage to the course or club property.
-
Any other action which may be considered to be breach of player conduct.
ANY BREACH of Player Conduct is subject to disqualification penalty
SPECTATORS/COACHES/PARENTS
-
Spectators, coaches, and parents are allowed but must rent a golf cart from the golf club.
-
Carts will be on a first come first serve basis, and subject to availability of carts. Members and players in the tournament will be prioritized in cart assignment.

All spectators must remain on the cart path at all times. They must stay off the tees, general areas, putting greens, bunkers and penalty areas. They are allowed to use golf carts if course permits.

They should maintain a reasonable distance from the players to avoid the impression that they are giving advice or assisting the player in any way. They may approach the player for a moment to give clothing, food or beverage but should not have prolonged contact.

Those found to be violating these policies may be asked to leave the COURSE.
