Rankings Overview

Junior golfers earn ranking points by competing in approved Junior Golf Pathway events. Rankings are designed to fairly reflect performance across events of different sizes and age divisions.

How Rankings Work

  • Players earn points at each eligible event they play.
  • A player’s best eight (8) results count toward their ranking.
  • The 2026 Junior Golf Pathway Ranking Season ends on November 1st, 2026.

Eligible Age Divisions

The Junior Golf Pathway Rankings include events with the following age divisions:

  • Under 13 (U13)
  • Under 15 (U15)
  • Under 17 (U17)
  • Under 19 (U19)

Age divisions are determined using an August 1 age‑cutoff date, meaning a player’s age as of August 1 is used to assign their ranking category for the season.

How Points Are Awarded

Points are awarded based on both field size and finishing position.

  • Each event is assigned a set number of points for first place, based on the size of the field.
  • Larger fields award higher first‑place points than smaller fields.
  • All other positions receive points as a percentage of first place, based on how they finish relative to the rest of the field.
  • Points decrease smoothly from first place to last place.
  • Every player earns points—including last place—while higher finishes and larger fields result in higher point totals.

This system ensures consistent, fair scoring across events of varying sizes and rewards athletes for outperforming more competitors.

Leaderboard Points vs Total Points 

Players are only awarded points once per event, per leaderboard.

If a player competes in an older age division (“playing up”), they still earn only the points from that single event. However, their result may appear on multiple age‑division leaderboards for visibility and comparison purposes.

Example:
If a U13 player earns 50 points while competing in a U19 event, they are awarded 50 points total. Their player profile may display 200 points because the result appears on four leaderboards, but only 50 points are actually earned.

  •  Rankings are determined by individual leaderboards, not by the combined profile total. Displayed totals do not increase a player’s earned points.
