Welcome to the 65th Berkhamsted Trophy. The Berkhamsted Trophy is a World Amateur Golf Ranking event, played over 72 holes, over 3 days. Following the completion of round 2, the top 40 players & ties will play the final 36 holes.
Practice Rounds
Wednesday 8th April is the official practice day. Tee times are available from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. Players are asked to contact the Professional Shop on 01442864832 (option 2), to book their practice rounds. Players are able to practice prior to the event, subject to availability. Players are entitled to only 1 free practice round.
Practice Facilities
There is a small practice range located close to the clubhouse. Range balls are complimentary throughout the week, and these are obtained from the practice range marshall. The practice range opening times are listed below;
Thursday & Friday - 7.15am - 9.30am & 11.15am - 3.30pm.
There is a large practice area to the right hand side of the 17th fairway (approximately 10 minute walk from the clubhouse). This area is for own golf ball use only, no range balls to be taken.
The short game area to the left hand side of the 18th is open for use. There is also a chipping green adjacent to the putting green.
Registration
Registration opens Tuesday 7th April and closes at 4:00pm on Wednesday 8th April. Registration can be done here or in person.
Collection of Information
Collection of bag tags, yardage books and car park passes will be from the Professional Shop on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th April. Anything not collected by Wednesday will be placed in the clubhouse for collection on Thursday.
Competition Rules
Competition rules (including local rules) can be obtained here from Monday 6th April.
The England Golf Hard Card and Code of Conduct are in use for this competition, and these can be downloaded here. The Hertfordshire Golf pace of play policy will also be in use, and can be downloaded here.
Inclement Weather/Cancellation
If, in the opinion of Berkhamsted Golf Club, it becomes impossible to complete the competition because of adverse weather or other circumstances, the golf club may vary the format to the extent where necessary to achieve a result in the timeframe available.
Berkhamsted Golf Club reserves the right to cancel the event at anytime if required to do so, or if in its opinion it is reasonable in the circumstances to do so, due to events beyond its reasonable control.
Locker Rooms
Locker rooms are available for both men and women on the lower ground floor.
Clubhouse Facilities/Catering
The clubhouse will open at 6:30am on tournament days.
The kitchen will open at 6:45am - 5:00pm.
The Masters will be shown in the clubhouse throughout the day, and special evening meals will be put on Thursday & Friday.
Players making the cut will be served a lunch between round 3 and 4, from 11:00am.
Starting
Players must report to their starting tee no later than 5 minutes before their tee time. Scorecards, local rules and pin locations will be available from the starter.
Resolution of a tie
In the event of a tie, there will be a sudden death play off on the 18th hole, repeating if necessary. This will take place immediately after the final scores have been checked and verified.
Result of Competition
The result of the competition are deemed officially announced and the competition is closed when the Berkhamsted Trophy has been presented to the winner. The presentation will take place at approximately 7:00pm.
Trophy Committee
All claims and disputes will be settled by the tournament committee.
The committee reserves the right to alter the terms of the competition.
The decision of the committee is final.
