SNGA Tie-Breaking and Playoff Policies

SNGA Tour 1-Day Events:

All ties for purse for SNGA Tour events will be broken by the USGA recommended scorecard tiebreak method. For Player of the Year Points for one day SNGA Tour events, ties will be retained unless it is a tie for first. A tie for 1st will be broken based on the scorecard playoff. Players who tie will split the points evenly based on their respective finish positions.

SNGA Championship 2-Day Events:

Ties for first place in SNGA Championship events will be decided by an on course playoff (when feasible). For any ties for 1st place in the Championship Division, Net Division, or the Gross portion of the Senior and Silver Divisions, there will be a sudden death playoff.  Ties for 1st place in Senior and Silver Net will be determined by a scorecard tiebreaker. For all divisions, ties for purse other than 1st place will be determined by the mult-round USGA recommended scorecard tiebreak method (Final Round 18-hole score, score on Holes 10-18 of final round, score on holes 13-18 of final round, etc....).

Playoff Policies:

For mutliple day SNGA events, there will be an course playoff for a tie for first place. For the Championship Division, Net Division, and for the Gross portion of the Senior and Silver Divisions, there will be a sudden death playoff.  Sometimes there will be factors that will not allow for an on course playoff. These factors include darkness, public play on the course, weather, etc. Every effort will be made to conduct an on course playoff. If, for any reason a playoff is unable to take place, we will determine a winner by the USGA recommended scorecard tiebreak method.

USGA Recommended Scorecard Tie-Break Method:

Multi Round Tournaments:

This tie breaking method uses the 18-hole score from the final round as the first tiebreak method. If players are still tied, then the total score of Holes 10-18 of the final round will be used. If still tied, total score of Holes 13-18. If still tied, total score of Holes 16-18. If still tied then the scores for Hole 18 are compared. If still tied then scores for Hole 17, 16, 15, 14, etc..... Once a player has a better score on a hole the tie will be broken.

Single Round Tournaments:

This tie breaking method uses the total score on Holes 10-18 as the first tiebreak method. If still tied, total score of Holes 13-18. If still tied, total score of Holes 16-18. If still tied then the scores for Hole 18 are compared. If still tied then scores for Hole 17, 16, 15, 14, etc..... Once a player has a better score on a hole the tie will be broken.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to certain factors such as shotgun starts, starting on the #10 tee, players in the same division teeing off different tees, etc.... the above tie breaking methods may be altered for any competition. The committee in charge of the competition reserves the right to employ any tiebreaking procedure they choose to for purposes of that competition. The tiebreak method specific to that event will always be available on the Notice to Players.
