CAMARADERIE AT THE FOREFRONT
The TPGL player has been the foundation of the club since its inception in 1970. Over the years, the TPGL has had a unique ability to attract quality players with positive individual traits including camaraderie, joy and humor, loyalty and a strong family orientation to each other.
Joining the TPGL will make it easier to meet new people to play with. You will find plenty of fellow members you feel comfortable with and who's game matches up very well with yours. It is quite common to see TPGL members socializing with each other after league hours in non-golf settings.
PLAYERS OF ALL SKILL LEVELS
The TPGL has low handicap, mid-handicap, and high-handicap players. All are committed to playing their best and are dedicated to the rules of golf and improving their play. The TPGL handicap system, derived exclusively from league play, is the great equilizer of the Club's competition structure as it allows players of any skill or experience to play together and enjoy a competitive round. As proof, over the last 15 years, the TPGL winner of the club's year-end 72 hole Tour Championship has emerged almost equally from each of the 3 division handicap flights.
CLUB ROSTER OF AREA CHAMPIONS
Many TPGL players carry a tournament resume loaded with championship titles and prominent state amateur finishes. The TPGL is a home Club to many former Club Champions - OF ALL FLIGHTS - at courses such as the Arboretum, Bittersweet, Deerfield, Glencoe, Heritage Bluffs, Lake Bluff, Pine Meadow, and Steeplechase. It also is a home to past champions of local area tournaments and it is common to see many TPGL members qualifying and participating in USGA and State CDGA amateur events.
WHY PLAYERS LIKE THE TPGL
There are several features that attract a player to the TPGL including the unique competitive format that leads to a year-end Championship playoff structure and the PGA tour-like golfing atmosphere.
But, scheduling flexibility steals the show. TPGL players appreciate being able to play in as many or few events as they can fit in. There are players who play just Saturday, some just Sundays, some every other weekend, and there are those that play in almost every event. Whatever your schedule can allow, the TPGL can fit in nicely.
