EXCUSABLE NO SHOW OR EXCUSABLE NO CARD

The Committee recognizes that there will be times when a player gets sick, injured, or encounters a personal emergency.  Let’s refer to these as unforeseen personal emergency situations.  These instances can happen within the 48 hour window and can also happen on the golf course during the round of play.  For a better definition, these are moments that are not wished upon any individual.

Policy:

  • If a player should encounter an unforeseen personal emergency situation within the 48 hour mark or during the round, the player is asked to notify a Committee member of the situation at their first immediate opportunity.
  • The player will be excused from the round.
  • The only consequence is that the player will forfeit any head to head match (and gift mdse) that is scheduled for that round or for a round that is in progress.

NO SHOWS AND NO CARDS

What is the TPGL policy if a player does NOT SHOW or does NOT TURN IN a scorecard?

INEXCUSABLE NO SHOW OR INEXCUSABLE NO CARD

In the event that a player does not show and no unforeseen emergency personal situation was disclosed by the player to a Committee member, they will:

  • Forfeit any head to head match scheduled for that round.
  • A repeat violation will result in the same as the first offense plus a 4 week suspension from the TPGL and a $50 fine.
  • Reinstatement is subject to 100% Committee approval and payment of the fine.

Similarly, in the event that a player does not turn in a scorecard and no unforeseen emergency personal situation was provided, they will :

  • Forfeit any head to head match scheduled for that round.
  • And, for stroke play purposes, each unfinished or unrecorded hole will be scored at +2 over par.
  • A repeat violation will result in the same as the first offense plus an indefinite suspension accompanied by an undisclosed fine.
  • Reinstatement is subject to Committee discretion.

TPGL Committee Perspective and Point of View

With regard to No Shows and No Cards, our primary concern is with the overall safety, health and well being of the player.  The Committee strongly believes that golf takes a back seat to family and health. A player not showing up or quitting during a round – with or without reason - is a deep concern for all.  The TPGL Committee and TPGL members are here to help and provide support to individuals if needed.
