Join us for the 2026 Senior Mountain Man, presented by USA Today Sports/Golfweek, and hosted by Mountain Glen Golf Club in Newland, NC.
Now in its seventh year, The Senior Mountain Man delivers true mountain golf without being overly punishing. Mountain Glen Golf Club offers that rare balance—authentic mountain character with everyday playability. The elevation changes and Blue Ridge scenery give it a memorable, away-from-it-all feel, while the fair design will keep it enjoyable for each tournament round. It’s the kind of course that doesn’t just test your game—it makes you want to come back.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All Golfweek senior amateur tournaments are certified WAGR counting events leading to exemptions into the 2027 U.S. Senior Amateur Championship (August 28-September 2, 2027) at Seattle Golf Club in Seattle, WA.

Tournament Facts:
Eligibility:
- Amateur Golfers, aged 55 and over by August 3, 2026.
-Handicap Index of 8.0 or lower
-This is a cart only tournament
Five Divisions:
-Senior age 55-64
-Super Senior age 65-69
-Legends age 70-74
-Super Legends age 75-79
-Grand Masters age 80+
Tees:
-Senior Division will play approximately 6300-6500+ yards
-Super Senior Division will play approximately 6000-6200 yards
-Legends Division will play approximately 5700-5900 yards
-Super Legends and Grand Masters will play 5400-5600 yards
The yardage will be determined by course conditions and might vary from day to day.
Conditions of Play:
The current USGA Rules of Golf and Interpretations shall govern play.
Tournament Registration is $585.00 and includes:
- Three (3) tournament rounds with cart and live scoring
- Lunch each tournament day
- Prize pool of $75.00 per player
- Bag storage and driving range on practice round and tournament days
- Daily tournament coverage on www.golfweek.com and www.golfweekseniornation.com along with most other national digital media outlets
- Awards following the completion of each division
Practice Rounds:
- Call in practice rounds are available Sunday, August 2 for a rate of $50 per player. Additional practice rounds are available on a space available basis.
Accommodations: There are many options in the Newland, NC area. Book early as rates are rising.

Cancellation Policy:
Deadline to register: July 27, 2026, or until field is full (Limited to 72 players)
Prior to June 22, 2026: Full refund minus $100 cancellation fee
June 22- July 20, 2026: 50% Refund
After July 20, 2026: No Refund
IMPORTANT NOTE: All cancellations/withdrawals from the tournament MUST go through Ron Gaines, rgaines@golfweek.com in order to receive a refund (if applicable). Do not withdraw yourself using the Golf Genius application as we are not notified, and your information is cleared from the registration system with no way to process a refund. There are NO exceptions. Thank you.
