SDHSAA CODE OF CONDUCT
The South Dakota High School Activities Association expects all players, coaches, and spectators to abide by the Rules of Golf, act with integrity, respect others, care for the golf course, and take accountability for their actions. Misconduct in violation of this Code, or in contrast to the spirit of the game, should be reported to the Tournament Committee as soon as possible. Sanctions, including penalty strokes, disqualification, and restrictions from future events, may be applied immediately or at a later time.The SDHSAA Tournament Committee determines when a breach of the Code of Conduct occurs.
A contestant may be removed at the sole discretion of the SDHSAA. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the SDHSAA or the “Spirit of the Game” is grounds for such removal and possible suspension from future competitions. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

Abuse or disrespect of any kind, directed at SDHSAA staff, volunteers, club staff, or other players

Any other actions that can be construed as threatening or that can potentially endanger any person

Any behavior deemed to be disruptive or distracting, including (but not limited to) loud outbursts, using profanity, throwing equipment

Intentionally damaging the golf course, golf course property or club/association signage and equipment

Using cell phones/electronic devices for purposes other than those permitted by the Rules

Any unbecoming or inappropriate conduct as determined by the SDHSAA

Violation of the SDHSAA Uniform dress code policy
Offense Procedure for Breach of Code of Conduct:
Starter Announcements – Warning
1st Breach – 2 Stroke Penalty
2nd Breach – Disqualification
Serious Breach – Up to Immediate Disqualification
