WHO ARE THE TEEBIRDS?

Teebirds are retired Illinois State University faculty or staff members (or their spouses/significant others of retirees) who meet on Thursday mornings for 9 holes of golf.   Visit our website at https://isuteebirds.net for complete information on our events, membership, and activities.

The group’s home course is our own Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University, along with a good sprinkling of area courses to give us variety.  Weekly play alternates between individual scoring and various scrambles, shambles, and other group formats.  Like to play 18?   Usually a number of players opt to go the second nine!

Annual membership dues are $15 for weekly prizes and support of social activities—the group has monthly lunches or coffees.

The Teebirds use the  online golf management system provided by the Weibring Golf Club. Golf Genius is a great tool that allows event participants to access information about their event including view tee sheets, contacting fellow golfers, entering scores with a smartphone while playing, viewing results, analyzing personal statistics, and more!

Open to any Illinois State University retiree, almost retiree, or a player sponsored by an ISU retiree.
 

Would you like to join us?  Don’t be bashful, just come out and join us!  Membership is open to any ISU retired faculty and staff as well as their spouses or significant others.  Just show up on any Thursday morning at 8 am and we will work you in.  Check the schedule for where we are playing on our website.

No skill requirements:  scores range from 40s to the 70s for nine holes that is!

Special ISU perk for rates

ISU retirees get a special perk at the ISU Weibring course: 10 9-hole plays for $120/ good thru 2018.  For all other play we do our best to negotiate the best senior rates for the green fees and cart. For full information on rates for play at all our courses visit the Season Play Schedule page.
