AGES/ELIGIBILITY

 Entries are open to male amateur golfers.  Handicap indexes listed in the current revision at the time entries close will be used in determining eligibility.

FIELD SIZE

120 players with the lowest handicap indexes and the defending champion will comprise the field.

FORMAT

  • Thursday, October 3rd - 18 holes stroke play for all 120 players
  • Low 31 and defending champion advance to match play
  • Friday, October 4th - a.m. Round of 32, p.m. Round of 16
  • Saturday, October 5th - a.m. Quarterfinals, p.m. Semifinals
  • Sunday, October 6th - a.m. Championship Match

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call Rivermont GC to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation on September 19th.  Practice round cart and range fee is $25 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, anytime based on availability.
  • Saturday-Sunday, after 1:00 p.m., based on availability.

YARDAGES & TEES

The RED GSGA tee markers will be utilized during the championship.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. Yardages are posted via the Event Portal.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. each day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on September 26. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CARTS

Practice round cart and range fees are $25 + tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted in the golf shop. Cart fees are required for all aspects of the Championship.  Players who choose to walk must still pay for a cart.  Practice round and match play cart fees are the responsibility of the player.  Thursday, October 3rd, stroke play cart fee is part of the entry fee.  Cart fees for match play will be $25.00 inclusive per day and will include range balls.  Cart fees for match play will be charged to the player after the conclusion of the championship and will be made to the card on file in the registration system.  

CADDIES

Caddies are permitted. Players may provide their own caddie.

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available in the clubhouse and halfway house.

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be awarded to the 32 players that advance to match play.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email.
