Tournament Format

The tournament will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the The R&A.

Handicaps will be calculated using each player’s Handicap Index and converted to a Course Handicap using the applicable Course Rating and Slope Rating for the tees being played.

 

Divisions

* Overall Division
* Senior Division (Age 65 and over)

 

Tees

* Men: White Tees
* Ladies: Red Tees

 

All competitors will play from the designated tees for their division unless otherwise specified by the Tournament Committee.

 

Countback

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by countback based on the scores for the final 18 holes.

 

Pairings

* For the first three rounds, players will be paired with those they register with.
* Final-round pairings will be determined by score order, with players grouped according to their tournament standing.
* Players who register individually will be paired with other competitors of similar playing ability where possible.

 

Internal event handicap adjustments

To ensure complete transparency, golfers will have their handicaps cut when shooting under their handicap index and may even have their handicap increased when playing well above their handicap.

* 37–38 points: (-) 1 shot
* 39–40 points: (-) 2 shots
* 41 points: (-) 3 shots
* 42 points: (-) 4 shots
* 43 points: (-) 5 shots
* 44+ points: (-) 6 shots

 

Handicap Increase

* 24 points or less: (+) 2 shots
* 30 points or less: (+) 1 shot
