FORMAT: Individual Chicago points. This format compares a player’s score, in points, to their Quota points which is based off their course handicap. Players will be given a point value base on their gross scores for each hole as follows: Eagle – 8 pts, Birdie – 4 pts, Par – 2 pts, Bogey – 1 pts, Double Bogey or worse – 0 pts.  There is a set number of “quota points”. A player receiving 0 strokes has a quota of 39 points. A player’s “quota points” for the round is calculated by subtracting their course handicap from 39 points. The top players are those who “outscore” their quota of points by the greatest number (i.e. if your quota is 30 and you score 35, versus a player whose quota is 33 and they score 36, you have beat them by 2 points). A player will compete based on his/her April 15th handicap revision or tournament index, whichever is lower.

TEES: (Alternate tee upon request if within 72 hours of the event, otherwise tee assignment is required)

Men: Flights 1-4 (H.I. of 14.1 or lower): Blue (6,266 yards, par 72); Flights 5-7: White (5,637 yards, par 71)

Women: Red (4,866 yards)

Play will begin at 7:30 a.m. with tee times in 10 minute intervals off the Nos. 1 and 8 tees. Please be at your assigned tee ready for play 10 minutes prior to your start time. There you will exchange scorecards with your fellow-competitors, and be able to pay into an optional skins game.

PACE OF PLAY & RULES: Please be sure to keep up with the group in front of you. Groups that miss their 18-hole checkpoint (finishing over the designated time and more than 14 minutes behind the group in front of them) are subject to a two-stroke penalty.  In order to keep an adequate pace of play, players are asked to pick up once maximum score has been reached on a respective hole; failure to do so will result in a two-stroke penalty.

The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and the R & A are in effect. It is the player’s responsibility to have a working knowledge of the rules. For more information regarding the rules, players can visit the NCGA’s website: https://ncga.org/rules/

MAXIMUM SCORE:  A gross double-bogey is the maximum score for this format.

SERIOUS MISCONDUCT & DRESS CODE: A player who is removed from the course for Serious Misconduct will result in a loss of all funds and potentially a suspension from future events. Players and Caddies are to dress appropriately. For more information, please refer to the NCGA Weekend Net Tour Hard Card.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The top 25 overall net scores will receive points on the Weekend Net Tour Player of the Year list for their finish, while the remaining players will receive participation points for completing an 18-hole round. Players who do not have an established numeric handicap index are ineligible receive placement points.

GIFT CARD DISTRIBUTION: The top performers in each flight will win gift cards to GolfMart stores. These will be distributed by email and will be done in batches, so gift card monies may not be received for up to 6 weeks. Also, any skins not claimed at the close of competition will be paid out by GolfMart gift cards. Players who do not have an established numeric handicap index are ineligible to win gift cards. Please be sure your email in Golf Genius is up to date.

TIES: Ties for gift card prizes will be settled using USGA recommendations of a card off: best back 9 net score, best back 6 (net), best back 3 (net), followed by best 18th hole (net), finally, tie-break by coin-flip.
