Ngā Whakatupuranga e Rearea Ake Nei
The Ngā Whakatupuranga e Rearea Ake Nei (Rising Generation Programme) will deliver golf-focused initiatives tailored to tamariki and rangatahi.
The program has two main components:
In-Kura Programme
We will introduce golf directly within the school, delivering sessions in full immersion Te Reo Māori. Students will learn foundational golf skills, sportsmanship, and the benefits of regular physical activity. By conducting these sessions within the school environment, we ensure accessibility and cultural alignment.
After-School Programme
Hosted at Pupuke Golf Club, this program removes financial and logistical barriers, allowing rangatahi to experience golf in a safe, supportive environment. Sessions will focus on skill development, fostering teamwork, and building confidence while providing exposure to a club environment.
What we hope to achieve:
Increased Participation: Encourage tamariki and rangatahi to engage in regular physical activity.
Skill Development: Equip participants with foundational golf skills and foster personal growth.
Cultural Connection: Create a culturally relevant program that supports Māori tamariki and rangatahi by delivering sessions in Te Reo Māori.
Long-Term Engagement: Build pathways for participants to continue playing golf beyond the program, potentially joining clubs or competing.
