2019 Arizona Stroke Play Championship

2019 AGA TOUR Early Bird Pricing –
Starting in 2019 players will receive a discount on tournament entry fees when they register for an event more than 30 days in advance.  

 

2019 Arizona Stroke Play Championship Pricing:

Entry Fee now through April 9th: $250

TPA Member Entry Fee now through April 9th: $225

Entry Fee April 10th - May 5th: $270

TPA Member Entry Fee April 10th - May 5th: $245

 

FORMAT: 72-hole stroke play Championship, played over four consecutive days (Thursday – Sunday).

Groups will play in threesomes, 9-minute intervals, off Nos. 1 & 10 tees of the Founders Course and the Victory Course on Thursday & Friday respectively.

The Championship field will be cut to low 60-players + ties after 36-holes.

Weekend play will be threesomes, 9-minute intervals, off No. 1 tee on the Victory Course Saturday and Founders Course Sunday .

 

Players will be permitted to ride in golf carts, or they may choose to walk, during the Championship. Golf cart rental is included with paid registration. Player carts will be staged near the practice facilities daily.

 

ELIGIBILITY: All players must have an active membership with an AGA Member Club and a USGA Handicap Index of 8 or better at time of registration in order to participate.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available starting April 29 through the start of the event at a rate of $49+tax. Please call Reservations at (623) 388-3000 and identify yourself as an AGA participant to receive the special rate.


PAIRINGS: Official tournament pairings will be emailed to participants by end of day on Monday, May 6.

 

DRIVING RANGE: Practice balls will be available on the range one-hour prior to play.

 

PAYOUTS: Tournament Champion will receive a Kachina trophy. Players who make the cut to top 60 + ties will receive a $50 credit for Titleist merchandise shop on Saturday, May 11th.

 

POSTING SCORES TO GHIN: The Arizona Golf Association staff will post all tournament scores to GHIN following the event. Players should not re-post event scores.

 

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the Championship. They must walk at all times unless there is an available seat in one of the player’s carts. Caddies riding in a cart MUST NOT displace a player.

 

GOLF CART USE: Players may walk but are permitted to ride in carts and cart fees are covered in the tournament entry fee. Carts will be staged near the practice facilities each morning of the competition. Maximum of two carts per group and maximum of two riders per cart. In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
  3. Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site, and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
  4. Two persons per cart only.
  5. Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
  6. Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential rules violations.
  7. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

WITHDRAW POLICY: Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw”. Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
